Wrong again, stop assuming please. Buying herbs from the local shop and making medicine makes me a grey player? No one said anything about adventuring or killing animals. Your doing a strawman fallacy by making your own argument, placing it as mine and then fighting it.
Either way, your still by definition wrong. Like I don't know what to tell you at this point. Your literally wrong by the meaning of the word, it's not even an opinion battle. It's just incorrect. False.
grief·er
ˈɡrēfə/
nouninformal
(in an online game or community) a person who harasses or deliberately provokes other players or members in
order to spoil their enjoyment.
ha·rass
həˈras,ˈherəs/Submit
verb
gerund or present participle: harassing
make repeated small-scale attacks on (an enemy).
Back to deviants. You said in your own post a blacksmith was a blue player so let's use blacksmiths so you can't scapegoat again. A blacksmith makes great armor. That armor will get me alot of money if I sell it on the black market. He stores his goods at that guild hall. We break into the guild hall to sell the armor to the highest bidder. In the process we kill seven people.
now do me a favor. Read those 2 definitions, then re read the scenario. That isn't griefing. You are literally incorrect. idk what else to say after this. They may be a dangerous af player because they just took at 5+ people alone, but they aren't griefers. I'll do some diagrams next I guess..
By the definitions griefing is delivering many small scale attacks or provoking players (such as PvP) just to spoil their fun. Killing 5 people in 1 sitting for money doesn't fall into that category. No matter what way you cut it.
I don't want to fight with you about this. If you don't like the idea just dislike it, do the adult thing and move on. But to answer your questions, I am talking about griefing players who do not want to fight. If you are merc or thief that is good enough to get into a guild hall and get passed their guards, then those Blacksmith's will eventually have to fight, which means they will become aggressive and turn gray in self defense. So this is not an act of griefing, this is just PVP on a creative scale and no murder counts will go against you. And being in an aggressive guild, you know the risks, be ready for any kind of retaliation.
On the other hand, if a player literally does not want to fight and even surrenders, offers their goods, puts their hands up, and a person kills them anyway with no purpose but to kill them and get a thrill on it, this is an act of griefing. And if they have a reputation of doing this, killing innocents who did not fight back, it will count as a murder each time. There is no way to twist that, and this was my original point. The system is to protect players who just want to do non-combat content. It is a way to protect them from griefers.
