Hey there! Everyone inhabits an npc that is already in the world. These NPC families will have homes of their own that you'll be able to obtain (I believe via story points). Also, the courtier (current count package) package does have a manor that comes with it.

The manor is attached to the title - that is correct.

Everything can be lost in game, one of the main reasons why being able to start out as a count, duke or king is not P2W. No matter how much money you spend on the game, if you don't actually play your character well or if a bunch of other players decide they don't want you around, you'll be back to experiencing serfdom.
