Theurgy

Will CE have theurgy? For example, the call of spirits (evil and good) and the conclusion of deals with them, the creation of special talismans and rings (they will be very difficult to create, but in return they give a great advantage. I can offer a lot of ideas on this topic if you want.(Google translate)

Yes there will be religion, magic and magical relics.

At game launch it has been stated that magic will play virtually no part for the player. However as the game progresses, methods may eventually become available to the certain players to explore magical paths. In addition players are expected to encounter beings of magical ability, such as Ancients, Daemons and even dreaded Liches.

While the gameplay elements of magical paths are expected to be revealed in time, most information on magic will be not be revealed to players.

Just do not expect anything of this sort at launch.

Further down the road? we have no clue if these will be implemented

Never argue with an idiot, cuz he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Yes there will be religion, magic and magical relics.

That doesn't really answer the question.

He's asking about the ability to call upon a sort of spirit to influence an aspect of the world.

I don't know about theurgy but there will definitely be some thugery for sure.

Just to make sure we're clear, though....

Once magic is added to the game, it will NOT be accessible to everyone.

The current model they have described for gaining access to magic is to be born with a Talent (estimated that, throughout the game, about 5% of Characters will be born with a Talent). Then you have to Awaken that Talent via a trigger you don't know exists. Basically, IF you have a Talent (you don't know if you do or not), then you have a hidden Quest (you don't know the details of this quest, or even that you have it, and it is at least slightly different for every single person born with the potental for that specific Talent) to complete in order to activate your Talent. They estimate that, of people born with a Talent, only 5% of them will activate their Talent.

So now we're looking at 0.25% of Characters having an active Talent.

On top of that, not every Talent is a form of Magic. You might be able to soothe wild animals. Or help guide Soul Walking people through the Astral back to their bodies. We don't know how many discrete Talents there will be in-game...but however many there turn out to be...divide 0.25 by the number of Talents, and that's your percent chance of getting any single specific talent. If there are only 20 talents in-game, that means you have a 0.0125% chance of getting a specific Talent.

In short: Do not expect any of your characters to ever manifest a Talent. And certainly don't expect to manifest a specific Talent.

The other way to gain a Talent is via the Soulborn Engine. The Soulborn Engine is the quest generator that is responsible for trying to make sure that the storyline of CoE actually happens. It has the authority to give Player Characters a Talent if it needs someone with that Talent to exist in order for the story to move forward. And it will pick someone based on their involvement in the world's story already...and someone who is well aligned with the actions that Talent would encourage.

For example...if the game wants an Evil Necromancer to show up...it may go find a very active criminal player who kills a lot of things....and may hand them an Active Talent for Necromancy.

So, if you want to better your odds of coming into a Talent...go get involved in the overarching story of CoE. The more involved you are, the better your odds of the SBA picking you to get a Talent for some reason or another.

Knowing what I can do isn’t the same thing as knowing what I can’t do.

as the OP says - every other game has magic, I'd be very content if the only magic in here was from relics and a very limited number of NPC characters that may need it to drive story. Screw magic - it's been so overdone and unless it can be made better, leave it to die a quiet, lonely death.

If magick exists in Elyria, it'll be very different than in other games.
