Biomes: Sky and Light

Too early to tell, but will there be a midnight sun effect?

Will that be possible?

Your title is a little deceiving

How?

Midnight sun effect has nothing to do with biomes. That aside, there hasn't been any mention of midnight sun that I can recall.

Can't help out the op but has any info been released on the day night cycle at all? I know a year is 7 days now and that's about it regarding time.

The day and night cycle is a 2.5 hour schedule. Changimg depending on seasons, with approx. 75 minutes of day and 45 minutes of night with 15 minutes of dusk/dawn. But those times will vary throughout the ig year.

Any planetary body will experience axial precession to some degree leading to differing hours of light levels from the equatorial to polar regions, directly impacting the type of biome found. Whether this is programmed for Elyria is another matter.

the day/night cycle is described here

not totally related to the OP but, it was said that there will be no timezone, it does not say anything directly about impact of latitude on the day/night cycle but it says that they may want to stick to an easy system with a unified global day/night all over Elyria.

As all things this might evolve and change but right now it seems that all points of Elyria will share the same time. As we do not know if the world is round, if the astronomy is the same or work the same in Elyria, all the time related matters may differ from earth's ones.
