Seawolf Naval Works
Lycaon County:
Lycaon County
Duchy:
Conclave of Aritaur
Kingdom:
Kingdom of Vornair.
Background Lore:
Lycaon County is a large area that encompasses a softwood forest and a rugged coastline. The Lycaons learned early in their development the art of building boats for coastal travel utilizing resources from the forest. The Lycaons particularly learned to navigate at night exceptionally well. They raided along the coastline for hundreds of years. This reputation and somewhat mysticism earned the Lycaons the nickname “Seawolves.” Lycaon County was considered a savage area by most citizens of the Conclave prior to the War of Many Banners. Lycaon County allied with the Conclave of Aritaur Duchy to defend the Kingdom of Vornair lands from the existential threat during the War.
The military prowess and seamanship of the Lycaons earned them a revered status within the Conclave, thus removing the “wolf savages” animosity towards them during the course of the great war. After the War, Lycaon County was officially admitted to the Conclave of Aritaur Duchy. The Lycaons maintained their warrior prowess as they settled their new towns and baronies, however, they significantly emphasised focus on their greatest asset, the sea. The Lycaons not only learned the civilization structure of the Kingdom, they also learned the value of trade during the war. Trade would mostly replace raiding as the Lycaon way of importing goods.
The Lycaons began a significant trade exchange with the interior of the Duchy for iron from the mines of Iskar and hardwoods from the forests of Greater Elacia. Iron and Hardwood in hand led to the guild formation of Seawolf Naval Works in order to focus on the next civilization achievement, transoceanic ships!

Seawolf Association:
The association is simply known as the Seawolves. The Lycaons vowed they would never lose their warrior spirit and ferocity at sea. The Seawolves are difficult to understand for outsiders, they are part pirate and part privateer, akin to a Buccaneer. They first and foremost serve the Kingdom of Vornair and the Conclave military interests protecting the coastal waters. The citizens of Vornair extremely value the coastal guard provided by the Seawolves. However, foreign seafarer’s are met with the pirate spirit. Occasionally, a foreign settlement is raided by night with rumors of “wolves from the sea.” However, the Lycaons neither confirm or deny the raids, they simply do not speak of it. The Seawolves see night raiding from the sea as an ancestral right and nobody else's business.
The piracy is seen differently from raiding. They Seawolves brag about their activities, they do not see it as piracy, but as securing the seas for Vornair. The Seawolves may only relieve their victims of their shoes, this seems to be a trademark, or they sometimes capture and plunder depending on the foreign allegiance and sea capability. In general, the Seawolves typically use piracy as a way to keep other Kingdoms out of sea-borne advancement. Thus, seeing their “piracy” as a noble pursuit.
The Fleet Pack is led by the First Seawolf, but every ship captain is his own master accountable for the actions of his crew. This can make the Seawolf association and leadership confusing for outsiders that don’t understand the concept of pack over self in all things, including the ultimate sacrifice.
