IP per Square Footage of buildings breakdown.

Hello everyone. I wanted to take a moment and share a breakdown I created from the information provide in the newest update.

For the commercial buildings, I assume that the Square Footage would double with a second story.

There is not much else to my post, I'm afraid, but I hope this is useful to future planning.

EDIT: You may need to right click on the image, and open it in a new tab to see all the columns.

I also made a visual size comparison between the three sizes of commercial buildings and the 64x64 plot of land. The largest square represents the size of a manor:

Yeah the medium commercial building seems off on either size or price point, I wonder if they meant 64 square meters, that would put it between the other two in terms of price per square meter and seems more reasonable for a square building with even sides than 54... (or do we have 7.3484692283495 meters per side)

There were issues with the building sizes on the initial chart, hopefully the medium is a mistake.

good work.

How many of each can we expect to fit on each 64x64 square?

Keep in mind that townhouses, villas, and manors have 2 floors. So really, the IP per m^2 should be halved.

I think you also need to include the plot price in this calculation?

1 plot is only 64 x 64 sq m and some building require more than just one plot

A parcel is 64x64m = 4096m sq. (unless I have messed that up)

The largest building I see on the KS tables is the manor at 672 m sq. about = 26 m on each side. That is a bit less than one-fifth of a parcel. Surely, the devs don't mean a manor is 672 m on a side?

Probably the fortifications can take up to a parcel in area. I suspect no basic structure we can buy with IP will go over 1 parcel in footprint area. Simpler for the devs, that way.

That's awesome, will be re-osting that over to my Architecture post for some of the folk there.

I think you are correct I though it is 64 sq m but it is 64 x 64 so it is 4096 sq m :p

come to think about it, the shack with 5 x 5 sq m will be a very small area for a family to add bed and some other things in it. maybe it is only good for single player not for family or only meant for keeping the tool and goods.

While I understand what you're saying, there's nothing to specify that. Whereas with commercial buildings there's an additional breakdown for the second floor.

Pink: Shack

Blue: Cottage

Light Blue: House

Green: Townhouse

Yellow: Villa

Dark Red: Manor

Light Pink: 64 x 64 (1 parcel of land)

The idea that the shack was only ever intended for a single person or to store items does make some sense, considering it is priced at exactly the amount of "free IP" that comes with access to Exposition

This is all useful information. Good work.

Nice work on the visualization. For the reference to certain residences being two stories you can look to a SBS comment on Update #25 from May 26th (both SBS comments from that day are included below for ease of reference...)

And I can confirm what others are saying. The cottage is 8m x 8m, whereas the parcel of land is 64m x 64m. Plenty of space for everything. Incidentally, the Manor is 24m x 14m, x2 floors. The Townhouse is 12m x 8m, x2 floors. Creator Soulbound Studios on May 26

Hey Justin, the Townhouse, Villa, and Manor already include a second floor. As for Tunneling, I don't have the values for that off-hand. I might be able to get it from the dev team tomorrow.

Thought I'd show how the corrected footprints for the various buildings fit on a plot (when I varied from square but don't have a SBS reference for a non-square dimension I noted as "(not definitive)")...

Buildings on Plot

(Hopefully I got the sizing about right for the forum - if not, it is a link)
