Your role in Elyria?

I've been thinking about it for a while, and in a world with so many options and possibilities, I find myself at a loss as to what my role will be in the world's biggest role-playing game ever. A functional world needs all kinds of people to fill basic roles and make a functional society. From nobles to peasants, from merchants to missionaries, from evil wizards to heroic explorers, every part is crucial.

So my question is; what is your role and how did you know? Did you wake up one day and just know, or was your character years in the making? Show off your original ideas and help others brainstorm their own.

I love hearing stories and need help creating my own. Show off how true you are to yourself and your character.

Just going to go into construction, then become a shepard afterwards.

Nice! How did you decide that?

I'm thinking of being an explorer/cartographer and later probably a tailor.

I plan on being a bow maker for the crafting corps within the Rangers Guild. I will specialise with archery equipment but will dabble in personal defense weapons such as daggers for when the enemy gets too close. I will also keep up my skill with the weapons I create so if extra combatants are needed I can be of use.

I'm not sure what I want to do role wise but I know I want to wander, explore, see the world, meet people. I'll probably end up a kind of ranger or hunter, explore, fight the occasional beast. I have even toyed with the idea of being a highwayman but it's looking more and more like crime doesn't pay.

I intend to go towards the bardic/scribe route, going about creating songs and creating written materials whilst producing song lists with a twist to travel the world and document things. It's a free flowing route which'll hopefully be fleshed out further into the development cycle.

Top Stabber of Stabbingtown.

I hope to be one of the best at whatever combat system they eventually develop, preferably using a spear. I'll be running my own arena, hopefully using whatever contract system we end up with to run tournaments and events. In my old age I hope to hand down the skills I learned to both my heirs and others.

I'm thinking a whole bunch of different path at the moment. Im most leaning towards some sort of an Architect/Engineer combo deal. I want to build large objects and structures. Such as Castle defense walls, Siege engines, Grain Mills etc. So we'll see, hopefully I can do that!

My other thing Ive been thinking is Miner, does anyone know if I can build my house around a mine to protect the entrance? It would be interesting to see if there was something I can accidentally unlock in the mine...like a Balrog!

A tavern owner and maybe an explorer

The world lives and breathes just as we do, and it cannot shelter the descendants of Mann without our help. Overhunting may lead to the eventual extinction of a species, which will impact the ecosystem--and we may not suffer the consequences unaffected. As Elyria is massive, the demand for quicker transportation will be great, and I intend to deliver where I can.

Having discovered how dynamic and immersive Elyria would be, I plan to learn and master my desired trade.

As such, I will be spending my lifetime, and several lifetimes, developing the skills needed to become more than just an effective tamer and breeder. I will nurture a reputation for quality animals through merit, providing the people with beasts of burden, livestock, companion and protector--and will become renown for my particular breed of mounts; unyielding, powerful, and agile.

Saoirse, for freedom and liberty.

Impressive!

I'm thinking of being a gatherer/raw material producer, depending a bit on what's in demand. I'll probably have a bee hive, and a few sheep for wool. Maybe marry a blacksmith. For some reason I really want that, and if they're a good smith it should mean we have a stable economy. I'm not really interested in being rich and/or famous, but enough money so I can buy a few books if I want to learn a new skill would be nice.

I'll probably travel a bit at least to the nearby towns in my twenties or so, maybe take the odd job cooking for a tavern or inn.
