I think I remember them saying that guilds are to help production and schools are for research.

What would a deviant guild do? Are they a thing, or are guilds just for craft professions?

A deviant guild would probably not be a guild but one of the game's "associations".

I don't know anymore.

a guild is a business registered to the local lord or the count can't remember wich, you probably don't want to register yourself as a criminal to the authorities, that's my advice, hahahaha:P
