pre-ordering and advantages of alpha and beta players

I was wondering about the pre-ordering in this game, like written, you can buy the Alpha and Beta key. But what will happen when the game finaly gets released? Will everyone start from the bottom or will the Alpha and Beta players be ahead of everyone? If someone could explain it to me, that would be nice. :)

Just sitting here and waiting till the game gets released..

People who have expo access on the tiers start about three months before everyone else but have some limits on what they can do. Mainly they spend EP on instabuilding infrastructure and the like as a worldbuilding tool

Betas and Alphas will be wiped

Alpha and Beta servers will be wiped. They won't be saved for launch. When the game launches, only those who participated in Exposition (Sort of like Early Access) will have any legs up on people joining on official launch day!

Exposition is vital to the building of Elyria, as players are needed to build infastructure, and create organizations, families, and items for the actual launch of the game! So, don't think of it as a disadvantage to join the game after the 3 or so month Exposition. It is actually going to give those players a more fully fleshed out game world to play in.

like as has been said, everything will be wiped before Expo and expo is technically "early access", but it won't be the same as the game upon launch. Expo is more about world building and replacing NPC's with real players.

Although it's not been updated upon recently, so this may have changed, but some players will be let ingame early, during Expo, even without the title based early access... it was said this will be IP based and will still be aimed at world building and not "playing" the game. This is so that all players aren't the same age when joining, and thus (on average) will die at the same time.

Technically, there will be 'playing' in the later stages of Expo. While there's no PvP in the first month, the second month allows for player combat and in the third month, all-out warfare becomes possible.

Alpha and Beta states will offer a little advantage to the player in the way of knowledge. Once the game launches they can hit the ground running without having to learn the game first. However nothing transfers, the servers will be wiped going into launch.

Given that Alpha and Beta are there to find bugs and balance the game, half of that knowledge might just be invalidated when things are fixed up afterwards.
