There are less tiers now in the new store than there were before, the tiers that show up on the forums are divided based on influence points and don't necessarily coincide with the tier you purchased. Basically the tier represents how much money you've spent...

Forum tiers depend on your total influence. Your total Influence rises by 10 points for every dollar you spend in the store.

• Tier 1 : 400 Influence
• Tier 2 : 1,000 Influence
• Tier 3 : 1,500 Influence
• Tier 4 : 2,500 Influence
• Tier 5 : 5,000 Influence
• Tier 6 : 10,000 Influence
• Tier 7 : 15,000 Influence

• Tier 9 : 25,000 Influence
• Tier 10 : 35,000 Influence

Back when I had my backing set during the kickstarter phase it was Tier 4. Now it's Tier 3? What changed?

The tiers were listed as forum titles during the KickStarter rather than numbers. So during KickStarter you had the third title, and you now have the third tier. They changed from titles to numbers because the names were a little confusing, for example you could get the Count title without being a Count!

Those were the values back then but they were changed just couple days ago. You can read more about it in the link Ianquekiller posted but here are the new influence-tier values anyway:

• Tiers 1 (400 Influence), 2 (700 Influence), and 3 (1,000 Influence) correspond with the Adventurer Pledge Packages and have a bronze border
• Tiers 4 (1,200 Influence), 5 (1,750 Influence), and 6 (2,250 Influence) correspond with the Gentry Pledge Packages and have a silver border
• Tiers 7 (2,500 Influence), 8 (5,000 Influence), 9 (7,500 Influence) correspond with the Aristocracy Pledge Packages and have a silver border with additional filigree
• Tiers 10 (10,000 Influence), 11 (50,000 Influence), and 12 (100,000 Influence) correspond with the Nobility Pledge Packages and have a silver border with gold trim and filigree.
