The village of Flechtenberg is the heart of the Dutch community of the Duchy of Wirtenberg, but of course everyone is welcome.
We are a warm and open community of like minded people who would like to work together to expand our beautiful city. At the outset, we want to focus on expanding our 'Ranger Guild', but we are open to all ambitions and crafts.
Our beautiful city is has a amazing folklore that lays the foundation for the administrative system and RP.
A few generations ago, an dishonored Knight-errant wandered through a dutchy, which would later be known as Wirtenberg. This noble who would be known as Tibor 'the Blessed' had lost his name and all his possessions in disaster that has been lost in history.
After days wandering through the county, where he did not encounter any water or living soul, his faith in the gods was the only thing that kept him alive. The demolished knight continued through the still uncultivated land, but the gods seemed to have abandoned him when the rain changed the land into impenetrable mud pool.
Because of all of these setbacks, the last straw palm that gave him the strength began to shake. He cursed the gods for his misfortune and wondered why they punish a pious man as he this way. The devoted knight collapsed and laid down his fate.
With his last strength, the knight began to pray to the gods, his once so prestigious clothes was torn and fouled by the treacherous landscape, his noble name was smeared by The event by which he had to flee. He prayed for a whole day after which he humbled himself down to the will of these same gods who let him down.
At that time something miraculous happened. The cloud broke partially open, the warm pleasant sunbeams seemed to indicate a place. Tibor thanked the gods and crawled humbly, with renewed power through the mud, to the place where the sun's rays seemed to fall.
When he arrived he threw his hands in the sky and thanked the gods for this gift. Under the sun was a mountain of braided twigs. Thankfully, he pulled his exhausted body to the divine mountain. The braided mountain appeared to be filled with dried meat, flat breads and jars of wine, food that could only have been dry by a divine miracle.
He thankfully prays the gods before filling his empty stomach with the best food he has eaten throughout his life. After he renewed his strength with food and the warm sunshine. His thoughts began to settle. It was not the name that made him who he was but the gods and all the people around him. These new thoughts renewed the extinguished fire in his heart and he decided to honor the gods by settling at this holy place. He named the place Flechtenberg after the gift from the gods, namely, the braided mountain of twigs. His afther naming the place he baptized himself Tibor Vlochtenberg and erased his old dishonored name from history.
A few generations later, at the same place where Tibor blessed settled down a small village called Flechtenberg flourished, honoring the mountain of twigs of the gods whit not only the name but also with the cities coat of arms, a twig on a green field. The noble family Vlochtenberg is still living in this city, where the head of the family fulfills the hereditary office of mayor until today.
But the lesson in humility has not demolished them in all those years. Thus, Yoram 'de Giver ensured that the guilds and clergy took part in the council and Tibor 'the Common’ ensured voting right for al his citizens, in a folk tribunal. This lesson is therefore repeated every year in the annual celebration of founder of the city. ...
The city is organized into a combination of Aristotle's politietia and the Roman Tripartite Model.
The position of Consul mayor is being performed in the city by the head of the Vlochtenberg family and is a hereditary title. The mayor has executive power in the city and thus heads all of the services. He is also chairman of the city council.
The city council in Flechtenberg consists of 6 elected from the various positions who continue to function until death.
If a member of the city council dies, elections will be issued. The different guilds, the clergy and the noble families can all be a single candidate. Next, the People's Tribunal determines by means of a majority vote who comes to the council.
The board of Flechtenberg has legislative power. All the laws and rules that are made in the city must therefore be handled by a majority by a majority. Furthermore, the board may choose the judges
Every citizen of the city who owns a plot of land and has a soul may be elected to the Tribunal. This Tribunal then has the veto on proposals from the board. Furthermore, the national tribunal may vote which of the nominated candidates may be in the council.
The judges of Flechtenberg are elected by majority vote from the people's tribunal by a majority of the council and serve until death after which a new selection will take place.
The annual celebration of the foundation, which involves braided twigs in a procession throughout the city. After which the whole community, outdoors, eat dried meat and flat bread while the wine flows.
The ranger guild focuses on all the skills involved in hunting, such as archery, tracking and survival. In addition, the guild co-operates with the civil guard for the defense of the city. Additional to their military functions, the guild has functioned as a school. In which all the children of the city get lessons in tracking and archery.
The Tavern is run by the mayor himself.
The temple of Flechtenberg is dedicated to the gods of the Qindred pantheon and is led by the High Priest(es) of the city. The high priest is elected by the other local Qin priests until he/she dies or abdicate his / her position.
Under the direction of the high priest, the temple provides together with her priests and her followers; the Qin brothers and sisters. The writing and copying of various writings, including the chronicles of the city. They take care of the poor and sick and organizing religious activities and festivities.
The priesthood of the Qin temple also maintains contact with the other religious institutions. To ensure the safety of the temple and its priest, the temple also has its own armed brothers who are led by the high priest of the city.
