Reincarnation Perception

If a player reincarnates, will other players know who he/she is?

Meaning, if a player has enemies (permadeath trying to kill someone else, built an empire by screwing over others, generally disliked, etc...) after reincarnation will other players know who the reincarnated person use to be or ever was?

Considering people won't automatically know even your character's name, I don't think there's a way for them to know for certain. However, since most players will choose to leave their possessions to an heir and then reincarnate as that heir, they will often be able to work out with reasonable certainty who you were in a past life. If you deliberately obscure your reincarnation by choosing not to reincarnate as your heir (or if an enemy has killed all your heirs), and instead start in a different family or as a ward of the state, you will likely be able to obscure your origins especially if you choose a somewhat different playstyle, and don't immediately reconnect with your former community.

No they will not recognize your soul (unless there is a Talent that allows someone to do so ... awesome idea /hint /hint) they will only recognize your face.

So a noble who steals all manor of funds and weapons from his subjects, and makes their lives hell is overthrown and permakilled. He comes back as a ward with no connection to his former life walks out into the wilds and finds the hidden cache with all the loot his previous self stole. The ward now has all the loot but none of the "heat" from stealing it.

Malais, that is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind. Thanks for the insights everyone.
