The City of Ebonshire boasts one of the largest breweries in the county, which has drawn in the farming, mining and entertainment industry that has grown up around it. Our city is an ideal community for citizens that want to establish a residence, business or professional guild.

The City of Ebonshire will be located in the County of Lindinheim, which will be governed by a feudal style hierarchy of the noble house held by Count Heimdall Vindhlér. The City of Ebonshire will abide by all laws decreed by the County of Lindinheim, Duchy of Prismatia and Kingdom of Valyria.

*City Scribe: [Position is open] * Charged with writing all local legal writs, charters, and letters decreed by the Mayor of Ebonshire.
*City Treasurer: [Position is open] * Charged with managing the city’s finances with regard to the collection of taxes and/or contracts, and alerting the Sheriff of any delinquencies requiring enforcement [exact duties subject to game mechanics].
*City Magistrate: [Position is open] * Charged with presiding over and ruling on all local criminal trials and maintaining all legal records for the city.
*Sheriff: [Position is open] * Charged with collecting and/or enforcing tax collection, executing legal writs issued by the Mayor, County of Lindinheim, Duchy of Sanctaphandri and Kingdom of Ashland, and discovering and delivering criminals to the City Magistrate and/or Royal Courts.
The main focus of the economic structure within the City of Ebonshire will be that of ensuring the survival and professional growth of our citizens first and foremost, as well as supporting the needs of our feudal lord and county. Some examples of this focus and structure are as follows:
Farming & Livestock will primarily focus on growing and raising enough food products to maintain our citizens and businesses, and secondarily to support the needs of the county.
Production will primarily focus on goods and services to support our citizens and local businesses, as well as the military needs of the county.
Imports/Exports will be focused on trade necessary for maintaining sustainability, professional business growth, and supporting the military goals of the county.
Taxes will be assessed on property, and other taxes may be assessed on income and/or exports as needed to provide economic stability and fund city improvements.
The City of Ebonshire will abide by all laws as decreed by the County, Duchy and Kingdom of Ashland.
All accused of breaking a local law or are in violation of a contract will be given a fair trial, presided over and judged by the City Magistrate.
All accused of breaking a law of the County, Duchy or Kingdom or that if convicted would result in a penalty greater than imprisonment will be transported by the City Sheriff to the County Grand Magistrate or High Council for prosecution.
All citizens of the City of Ebonshire are entitled to the freedom of playing as they wish as long as it is done so in keeping with any restrictions or pledges of fealty, contracts and laws of the City, County, Duchy and Kingdom.
All citizens will be treated with respect and will not be discriminated against on the basis of real life or out-of-character reasons or situations. This is a role-play themed city in which in-character confrontations are to be expected; however, no out-of-character discrimination or drama will not be tolerated.
All citizens will be provided with the minimum amount of food and water to ensure basic survival.
Anyone convicted of a crime that results in exile from the city will be given a minimum portion of food and water for survival, and will be escorted out of the city.
Anyone sentenced to exile that is caught within the city borders will be apprehended and transported to the County Grand Magistrate for prosecution.
The City of Ebonshire will strive to maintain local security if required beyond that provided by the county as needed. The County of Lindinheim will provide the following security measures:
County roadways within the immediate vicinity of the capital and along frequented officially designated routes will be patrolled by the county military. It is unknown at this time if these patrolled roadways or trade routes will include areas near or around the City of Ebonshire.
County sentries and/or watch patrols will be provided and assigned to all county cities. The City of Ebonshire will have its own City Sheriff as well.

The Merry Maiden is one of those establishments which offers provocative hospitality and entertainment that one hears about in whispers, even by those who like to pretend it doesn’t exist. Since the brothel turns a nice bit of coin, the local government tends to look the other way as long as the Madame maintains order of her house and clientele.
