Eldenfos — the First Frost — one of the few words that remain of the old tongue. The long-nomadic Thevalur Clan, viewing themselves as being from superior stock, refused to settle in a land populated by those that they considered beneath them. After happening upon the County of Grimvein in the Kingdom of Blackheart, they found home as a vassal of Darkholm, and the Thevalurs prospered.

They built the first city of the Thevalurs, Eldenfos, outside of Kings Rook. A redoubt for the weary nomads. They strengthened their bonds with their vassals by sharing their clan's knowledge for the betterment of Blackheart. The finest of the Thevalurs' archers founded an academy to teach their secrets to the defenders of the kingdom.

The massive increase in demand for arrows drew loggers and fletchers to the forests surrounding the city. Carpenters soon followed, to build the homes of the booming Eldenfos. Blacksmiths came to forge the tools, leatherworkers came soon after. Farmers plowed the top of the earth whilst miners below searched it for its treasures. Fishermen were able to catch huge bounties off of the coast of Eldenfos, feeding the growing population of the city.

The Thevalurs, inexperienced with the more temperate weather of the lands south of their ancestral home, never considered the use of horses until the founding of the city. A nascent horse breeding industry put the gift horses from the Kingdom of Blackheart to good use, and the Thevalurs saw the immense value in these animals in conditions outside of the frigid northern wastes. They learned the ways of mounted combat from their lords, combining their newfound skill of horseback riding with their knack for archery to deadly effect.

The shipbuilding industry and merchant traffic were slow to catch up with the other industries, due to Eldenfos's militaristic origins. But as years passed, the city grew into a bustling port city, a fine jewel to the crown of Blackheart and a shining beacon of the successes of the Thevalurs.

The Thevalurs Value loyalty family and honor above all else. Having roamed the lands north to south for many years they had developed endurance and learned to hunt and survive in the wild as archers. Before swearing their loyalty to the Darkholms they had never used horses or any modern tools just what they could make and carry, rarely interacting with towns. The Thevalurs rarely trusting of outsiders had prefered to marry within their own. The first male and the first female of each family has always mirrored the name of their parents as a form of immortality in the search of it. Now they seek to train others to defend Darkholm.

The Blood Wardens, Headed by the Patriarch of the Thevalur Clan, Dalinton. It is their duty to man the walls of Darkholm and Blackheart alike. This elite unit of archers are trained by the Thevalurs in Eldenfos. Ever since the Thevalurs vowed to serve the Darkholms they have done what they can, and now they share their knowledge with those who would seek to defend their homes. The Blood Wardens have been trained day and night to defend, scout, and when needed kill. A skilled archer knows when to run and when to fight, many skills are required of archers. Most start out hunters which find favor with the Wardens after all before one can fight they must be able to survive on their own. others attend the academy within Eldenfos to learn the skills needed.

The Wardens seek to defend among all else however there are times when they must stray from that path whether its removing threats in the night or helping a village find food. The Wardens are respected by their bothers in arms and feared by their enemies who have seen arrows raid down upon them. On the rare occasion that the enemy forces their hand the Wardens are eager to leave the walls and once they do their enemies run in fear, for blood will be spilled and none will be left to tell the tale for they have forced the hand of the last line of defense The Blood Wardens.
