I haven't seen anyone with the idea to start a religious group like a cult or something like that. I'm not completely up to snuff with the lore behind the gods of this world. I just think this is a really neat idea that has gone widely abandoned.

It has been mentioned that yes, you can create a cult if you want to.

However, your problem will most likely be attracting followers to your cult.

Pre-established religions will have special infrastructure, vaguely-mentioned bonuses, and NPC support.

Player-made cults won't.
