The City of Winchester

Introduction:

The City of Winchester is located in the Duchy of Ashira, within the Kingdom of Kairos on the US-East server. Winchester is the capitol city of the Grand County of Wessex, and serves as the seat of power for the lord of the county. The city will be well organized, and well structured. Winchester will feature its own government system, judicial system, as well as a standing military. Opportunities are boundless, and we welcome you to experience all that the City of Winchester has to offer.

Commerce:

The city of Winchester strives to be a center of commerce within the duchy, welcoming traders, merchants, craftsmen, and all other professions. Winchester welcomes those who wish to earn a living, sell their wares, and contribute to the economical success of the city.

Military:

The City of Winchester will have a standing army, ready to defend itself if the need arises. Troops will be equipped and trained to the standard set forth by the Commander of the Garrison. The City Watch will be responsible for the day to day policing of the city, and enforce the established laws of the land. The Garrison will also be responsible for answering the call to arms, if the Kingdom is at war.

Civilian Life:

The core of the City of Winchester is made by its citizens who reside within the city limits. All are welcomed to make the City of Winchester their home. We will provide the protection, and the security you will need to start your own family, and run your business. Civilians will be afforded the right to run their lives as they please (within the laws), and the right to vote for city counselors.

City Positions:

City Council

The city council is responsible for passing local laws, and ordinances, as well as creating policies that will shape the way Winchester is ran. Every month, elections are held, in which two citizens will be voted in as elected City Councilors by the residents of each borough to represent them in the City Council.

Magistrate

The Magistrate is the head of the Judiciary system within the City of Winchester. The Magistrate will act as judges, and preside over the courts. Magistrates will oversee criminal, and civil cases, as well as approving legal documents.

Constable

The city's Constable is responsible for the enforcement of the laws within the City of Winchester. The Constable has the authority to apprehend those who violate the city's laws, in order to keep the streets safe.

Commander of the Garrison

The Commander of the Garrison is the leader of the military forces within the city. The commander is charged with the training, recruitment, and command of all military personnel, including the Garrison and City Watch. The Commander of the Garrison also has the authority to assume command of the city itself, if the city is under siege, or attack.
