Minimum requirement for Kingdoms?

So what kind of requirement will there be for making a kingdom? Could you break free from a kingdom as a duke and form your own kingdom? And is there a minimum land requirement to have a kingdom?

Three dukes can break free and make their own little kingdom. Of course nothing to stop the kingdom they want to escape from, to then come after them. Be a very risky move to see anyone trying it.

Yes, yes and yes.

As you can imagine Chuk, breaking away from a kingdom in a war of independence, requires that you should first have a reason for that war of independence. This is termed as a Casus Belli in CoE and a Casus Belli or CB is linked to mechanics with various gauges which allow the use of that CB(s). For example, each tribe has their own unique internal CB, one such being the Waerd's "In a power vacuum, whomever among the vassals looks most like the last leader is granted Casus Belli, so as to keep the appearance of continuity among the people. As a result, the vast majority of the Waerd look extremely similar." This doesn't account for the realistic feasibility of achieving independence, nor the backing from the rest of your counts and common people.

Additionally, to break away as a duke to make your own country, you are required to find the support of two other landed dukes at the very least. Hence, indirectly the minimum land required to make a country is three duchies in total.

After you have your CB, the support of the people and three dukes (including yourself.) You may now attempt a war for independence, where everything is on the line. This doesn't guarantee you will win the war, nor guaranteeing your newly forged country to be stable.

Note, you can attempt a war of Independence with your dukes and popular support without a CB, however, keep in mind you just made an "illegal war." Meaning that anyone can freely challenge you for your title. This includes your own vassals and foreign countries as far as we know. Hence, you, yourself, giving others a perfect CB to invade you with.

Keep in mind this information is from over the past year or so and as far as I know, is currently up to date. Additionally, SBS is still working on the game, therefore, current information and mechanics are subject to change.

Have a blessed day.
