Count Jason von Stanflia of Pommern
Flag of Pommern
The County of Pommern is located in the Freehold Duchy of Zylphania, in the Kingdom of Vornair, in NA-E. Pommern will be strong in all six categories as follows; Religion, Military, Economy, Industry, Politics, and Commerce . Our county is a calm tempered and mature region that will be a good fit for those who enjoy role play or those with diverse play-styles. The House seat of Pommern and the capital of the county, Stettin has a Germanic with a hint of Slavic influence to it and we are interested in having the culture and religion spread throughout the county as a whole so that the whole county shares a similar feel within itself. The three ethnicities that make up the Culture of Pommern are composed primarily of the "Oderic", "Kaaplander" (Germanic), and the "Kashic" (Slavic) peoples. The "Society" of Pommern is governed by meritocracy, where those proven to be the best, rise in the ranks.
You can visit our county's Discord At anytime! any additional questions feel free to contact Count Jason von Stanflia.

The goal is to locate Pommern in an area that is in a “Temperate Deciduous Forest” or a “Lower Montane Forest” along the coastline of our duchy and if possible with a river running through the county.

The river will help facilitate both travel and trade between our county and the rest of the kingdom. The plan is to be as self-sufficient as possible, while promoting trade with our neighbors, and becoming a beacon of naval and economic strength!
The House of Griffins or House of Pommern (German: Greifen; Kashubian: Gryf), also known as House of Greifen, was a dynasty of Principal Chiefs ruling the “Pommern confederacy”, and later Kings of the Small but powerful “kɪŋdəm əv Faʊ̯nˈdei̯ʃn”̩, (Rough translation; Kingdom of Foundation) from the 1st century until 681. The name "Griffins" was used by the dynasty after the founding of the Pommern confederacy and had been taken from the tribal coat of arms. Barnim VI (around 8 – died January 12, 82) was the first historical King of the “kɪŋdəm əv Faʊ̯nˈdei̯ʃn”̩, and the Reformer of the Gryffite faith. The most prominent Griffin other then Barnim VI, was Bogislaw IX, who conquered many nearby lands into the kingdom in 433, thus extending the kingdom’s border by four average counties. The last Griffin King of Pommern was Wartislaw III, who died during the invasion of of the lands currently known as the Kingdom of Vornair, which led to the death of the ruling Gryfs. Lady Anna von Croy, founder of Stettin University and daughter of King Wartislaw III and the last Senior Griffin, died in 686. The cadet Gryfs consolidated their wealth and power to their position in Stettin primarily in the University, (the Grand Hall of Gryffindor is rightfully commemorated in honor of the House of Gryf) and the Grand Temple of the faith. ( the Gryfs are direct descendants of King Barnim Gryf, the Christ of Gryffism, the Stanflia Dynasty takes it's Lineage back to Barnim’s great great great grandson Casimir III).
“kɪŋdəm əv Faʊ̯nˈdei̯ʃn” → Pronunciation → Ka-i-en-de-szwa-em szwa-we Ef-a-ou-en-de-e-i-jot-en
The dynasty is known by two names, Pommern, after their primary fief, and Griffin, after their coat of arms, which had featured a griffin since the before the current calendar: The first verifiable use of the griffin as the dynasty's heraldic emblem occurred in a seal of Casimir II, Chief of the tribe of Stettin, which showed the imaginary beast within a shield, and was attached to a document dated 843. The name Pommern comes from Keshic; po more, which means [land] along the sea.
Coat of Arms
Successors
After the fall of the senior Gryf dynasty one of the cadet branches of the Griffins took over as the legitimate successors of the Gryf while showing their abilities and loyalties by continuing their predecessors fight against Xeilias and it's tyrannical king.
The Stanflia family is an Keshic aristocratic family founded by Vladimer von Stanflia who was created the First Lord of “Castle Stanflia” (1st creation) by his father King Eric II of Faʊ̯nˈdei̯ʃn in 388. The Stanflias remained steadfast in their Gryffite faith as the most high-profile recusant family; two members, Wilhelm III von Stanflia, 8th Lord of Stanflia Castle, and Ferdinand von Stanflia, 26th King of Faʊ̯nˈdei̯ʃn, are regarded as martyrs: two Angelics. The Stanflia dynasty.
The Stanflia Coat of Arms is especially unique for it incorporates the Stanflia family lineage to the former Gryf dynasty with Griffin as its center piece, while adding it’s chivalric rise to power and it's values.
The current ruling Count is Count Jason von Stanflia.
The current careers that one may take are as follows:
The Head of the C.C.M. is the First Minister Lord Regent All Ministers must present their proposals or projects to the Count, whereby the Count will review and determine if he approves the project or proposal and thereby submit it to the Bundestag, if the Bundestag does not pass the bill the Count can still go ahead with the Bill, but will normally submit to the will of the Bundestag. Only after approval of both the Count, and the Bundestag will a bill become legal Law / Legislation. Unless the Count goes forth without the Bundestag's approval.
Barons - Hamlets, Villages, Towns, etc. each have a military counterpart. These military counterparts work much the same, except they are defensive structures, typically smaller, and are paid for by the Dukes, rather than requiring payment in the form of taxes to the Count. These are currently referred to as Outposts, Forts, Keeps, Strongholds, and Castles.
Village Elders (Hamlet/Village) - As with hamlets, villages can be named whatever they want, likely won't show up on maps, and don't have to be registered with the county. But if they register, they get certain benefits. Namely, the Count will likely want to build a road, put it on the maps, and if they build structures with crafting stations that are "open", then NPCs from nearby areas might travel and join their village. They may then purchase land nearby to help grow their village.
Mayors (Town) - The Mayor and everyone else are members of the Town Council. As a Town and above, there's a Town Management UI which lets Mayors see their boundaries, zone parcels of land for leasing (residential, commercial, industrial), monitor settlement resources and taxes, and lets mayors identify where they want different types of structures to be built. This is, as you guessed, a table, much like the Count has, which goes in the Town Hall. Through this table, people can see the "town plan". And can work to bring the mayor’s vision of the town to life.
Magistrates (City) - Once mayors hit City-level and above, and add a Courthouse, it becomes possible to customize the local laws using the desk at the Courthouse. As with the lower-level tiers, aside from defining some laws for their city, using the City Planning Table to identify where buildings should go, viewing the resource tables to ensure their getting the right resources into the town, and collecting taxes.
As you continue to grow your land, build new structures, and expand the community size it will follow a similar pattern. Here are the actual requirements:
The Gentry are divided up into two categories of class; Upper Gentry, and Lower Gentry. The Lower Gentry (Lower Class) are those families who “own land” but are not financially wealthy enough to hold their class status without working for a living. The Upper Gentry (Upper Class) are those wealthy families that “own land” and do not have to work for a living, as they are supported by earned or inherited investments (often real estate) and therefore are able to focus on more bardic or cultured professions which tended to be less profitable.
Knights - is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a monarch or other political leader for service to the monarch or country, especially in a military capacity. Historically, in Europe, knighthood was conferred upon mounted warriors. During the High Middle Ages, knighthood was considered a class of lower nobility.
Merchants - Historically in some cultures, members of an upper class often did not have to work for a living, as they were supported by earned or inherited investments (often real estate), although members of the upper class may have had less actual money than merchants
Artists - As an Upper Gentry-man you are enabled to afford the time and materials to produce wonderful pieces of art at your leisure and support oneself.
Musicians - As a Upper Gentry-man you are enabled to afford the time and effort to produce wonderful pieces of music that of the level of Nobility and Royalty’s entertainment, at your leisure to support oneself
The Lower Gentry (Lower Class) are those families who “own land” but are not financially wealthy enough to hold their class status without working for a living. The Gentry are only the actual Land owners tho, and not the whole family, all others are just Commoners.
Commoners are all those who do not actually own any land and therefore must work to rent out land or a room and board to live. Commoners are the lowest class in society (unless otherwise the Developers add the ability of Slaves/Serfs/Thralls/Contracted-Slavery). In his name while retaining every right to revoke, repeal and or ignore the opinion, results of the Bundestag. The Count/Countess holds him/herself as the Executive portion of the Gov. With the C.C.M. As his/her Cabinet and allowing the Minister of Justice to hold the position of Head of the Judicial portion of the Gov.
The Bundestag is the governing legislative department of the county made up of two bodies, both bodies require each others approval in order to pass a proposal. Neither body can propose the removal of the ruling noble house or it’s acting current count, but may bring to enlightenment a growing concern for the count or a faction against the ruling count.
Will be a Council made up of a gathering of all Aristocracy (Barons, Magistrates, Mayors), as well as the religious leader of the Temple in the capital (the High Overseer), and the Religious leaders of the county’s township Temples and Monasteries (Head Elders, Elders).
Will be a Assembly made up of a gathering of all the Gentry (Land owners) within the county.
If the Count of Pommern is contracted by the Duke to be Margrave of a March. the Bundestag would continue as it would under the county but would change in the following manner…
Will be a Council made up of a gathering of all the Counts, as well as the religious leader of the Temple in the capital of Pommern (the High Overseer), and the Religious leaders of the “Holy Districts” (The Regional Overseers).
Will be a Assembly made up of a gathering of all the Aristocracy, Gentry, as well as the religious leaders of the the counties’ township Temples and Monasteries within the March. (So Freeholders, Head Elders, and Aristocrats from all the counties within the March)
Each settlement the size of a town or larger will be responsible for covering expenses of their Militia company’s expenses. Every company will be responsible for combat readiness training every week and a County service Auditor will be commissioned by the County to inspect and determine whether each company is fulfilling their obligations, if any company is found slacking in their obligations, the auditor will then be tasked with investigating whether there is anything that can be done to fix this problem, if no such solution can be found the Committee for Army and fortifications in the Bundesrat will be responsible for deciding on what happens next.
The Margrave will work personally with the fellow Counts within his March to make sure his needs and the needs of his Counts/ess are being met, and that the roads and trade routes throughout the March are safe and Secure for all who travel. If a Count/Countess chooses to be more actively involved with the Navy of the March they will be openly welcomed by the Margrave as he feels it would greatly help and show support and teamwork which is essential for a successful practice.
The navy of Pommern is united under the supreme command of the Count if their Pommern or Margrave. The Pommern is charged with its organization and arrangement, and he shall appoint the officers and officials of the navy, and in his name these seamen (vikings) shall be sworn in.
The expenditure required for establishment and maintenance of the navy and the institution connected therewith shall be defrayed from the Treasury of the County or March if it is Pommern.
The County/March shall determine the process of ascertaining the tonnage of sea going vessels, shall regulate the issuing of tonnage certificates and sea-letters, and shall fix the conditions to which a permit for commanding a sea-going vessel shall be subject.
The merchant vessels of the County or March shall be admitted on an equal footing to the harbours, and to all natural and artificial water-courses of the County or March, and shall receive the same usage therein.
Each coastline settlement, village size or larger, is required to build a dock and harbor once able, and to continue in upgrading it to allow for the use of merchant ships and larger Naval ships.
In this way the County/Counties or March and the settlements within will be able to both project our strength in aid of our allies, the March, and in the defense of the Freehold Duchy of Zylphania, and Kingdom at large.
