Ravenholm
An ancient bastion that was once ruled by a pagan petty king known as the Raven King. It is said that House Raventree is descended from this ancient line of kings.
The Ravensworn is a warrior society that in its early beginnings had been nomadic in nature, raiding lands as vagrants that moved from one land to another out of necessity. Their religion is believed to be derived from aspects of the Two Fold Queen, and Faedinism, but is most often described by other religions and cultures as "Faithless".
Despite cultural labels from other more civilized parts of the world, the Ravensworn are considered a very spiritualistic people who celebrate in ancient tradition of the Ravenborn. This is the central belief that the world is derived of three planes of existence. The spirit world, or eidolon, the constant limbo of recycled spiritual energy, or souls, where one continues the cycle of life to be reborn after death. The there is the Far Plane, the realm of the gods. It is said that when a mann looks into the heavens of the night sky, the stars above are the Far Plane. A good death, for any ravenborn is to die on the field of battle. Warriors who die valorously will be carried away by the ravens to join the gods in the Far Plane. They will be immortalized for their valor for an eternity, and in this way new stars are born.
The gods being of course, the sun, Arion, the God of Light, and Menas, the moon, the Goddess of Darkness. It is said that Menas and Arion are in a constant war with each other, struggling for dominion in the heavens, and it was this war which had created night and day.
