Greetings adventurers and citizens! My name is Gibby, and I am the Ranger Commandant of the Rangers Corps.
We are an elite paramilitary and law enforcement group that operates within Novigrad County in the Duchy of Bloodaok, in Bordweall Kingdom. We are looking for both PVP and PVE players. We will be responsible for patrolling the county lands as well as being able to take out threats both foreign and domestic. We can be tasked with anything from escorting merchants or taking out gangs of criminals to taking accurate maps of the Novigrad County lands. We are also looking for players interested in crafting and breeding as our equipment and horses will be vital tools to us.
The Ranger Corps draws inspiration from the Ranger’s Apprentice book series by John Flanagan as well as the Texas Rangers and Medjay of Ancient Egypt. The plan for the Ranger Corps will be to have a chapter house in every settlement which will be responsible for the protection of the settlement and surrounding lands. The chapter houses will be a place for Rangers to meet, eat, and sleep as well as come together to plan out their roles. We will be tasked with domestic law enforcement and if needed when called upon by our lords and ladies we will assist the military. We will be a small elite organization, where all members will be held responsible by each other. Rangers will be trusted and important members of society.
The following applies for all Rangers, no matter their rank : Be willing to work alone, in small Ranger teams (typically around 4), or with the entire military
Be willing and able to possibly travel for extended periods of time away from settlements and able to forage and hunt for supplies.
Whether it be tracking down fugitives, patrolling our borders or scouting ahead of the military.
Must be trustworthy, loyal, able to keep secrets, and a low profile. Rangers must be skilled in PVP and PVE and personally skilled in at least one melee weapon and one ranged weapon. We do not require someone to be skilled in PVP and PVE from the start, we will offer training to those that wish to improve.
Horseback riding will be a valuable skill because of the area that will have to be patrolled.
Members must also be at least knowledgeable in at least one crafting skill. This is so they may be self-sufficient when out on patrol and able to contribute to both the guild and their settlement.
The Ranger Corps will be organized with 5 ranks:
The Leader of the Ranger Corps, will reside in the Ranger Headquarters in Novigrad.
Will be the head of their assigned chapter in the settlement. The First Ranger will be the team leader of the rangers assigned to the chapter.
Will be the second in command, helping the First Ranger with their tasks and being a mentor to apprentice rangers.
Regular members of the Ranger Corps, they will be the backbone of our corps and what most of our members will be. They will also aid in mentoring new apprentice rangers. Every member of the corps is a Ranger and must be willing to take on missions and assignments to help Novigrad County.
New members of the Ranger Corps, at the most each team will have one apprentice assigned to them. This is to ensure the apprentice does not get forgotten or excluded. They will be able to call on all of the Rangers at the chapter for assistance if need be.
