Black Fangs

"It is not death that a man should fear, instead he should fear never beginning to live." -Marcus Aurelius

What are Dread Wolves ("Black Fangs")?

The Dread Wolves, also referred to by the Fangs of Fenris as "The Black Fangs" for their black cloaks, are a new concept conceived by members of the Fangs of Fenris and approved by the First Ranger. Dread Wolves are essentially the most skilled members of the Fangs of Fenris, and when they don the black cloak, they also become the most feared.

What Do the Dread Wolves Do?

The Dread Wolves become so feared not merely because they are the most skilled and proven hunters among us, but because that skill and experience is used to track down a kind of prey the Fangs of Fenris wouldn't typically touch: Mann. Requests are given to the First Ranger, who then brings them up to the three-man cell dwelling in their Hall. Only the local Mayor or Count may issue requests for a target, and the target must be an immediate threat to the local population or the environment. Should no request come to their attention, Dread Wolves keep an eye on our territory perimeter. These territories may become as vast as an entire county, or even an entire Duchy. This will require a lot of communication and travel, and such work will require a good amount of skill and PvP combat prowess.

How Do I Become a Dread Wolf?

First, you must join the Fangs of Fenris. You can find their information linked on the discord below, or you can look for the forum post yourself if you like.

The Fangs of Fenris have big expectations of recruits, but not needlessly. Being a ranger is not for the fickle or weak-hearted. And being a Dread Wolf will be even more of a challenge, but certainly well worth it. You will need to hone your skills and gather experience necessary to either submit yourself or for someone else to submit you for consideration of becoming a Dread Wolf, should the opportunity arise. There is only room in a Hall of Arrows for three Dread Wolves, so if someone really wants to become one and there is no available space at their current Hall, arrangements can be made for a transfer to another Hall once we expand.

For any other questions, feel free to hop into our discord.
