Interest in the Waerd?

Are there are any other people on Luna (Especially other nobility) planning on starting out as The Waerd? I'm pretty set on joining them, so the kingdom I join in is secondary to my tribe choice.

The weard is awesome, but so is the To’resk. I’m pretty sure I’m going to start as To’resk count but weard is super tempting too.

I don't know if there are any Kingdoms that specifically favor them, but I am sure that some duchies, counties, and settlements do. I also know some players that do as well. Sadly we won't know which Kingdom ends up with which tribes until domain selection. Depending on your pledge you could probably run a Waerd over from another Kingdom if you needed to and if it's physically possible given the map.

What did you think of the armor that was recently shown?

Taking a break and don't know when I will be back.

I love the armors that they've shown, I just hope whoever gets stuck being the Waerd king doesn't end up trying to change the culture immediately.

That would probably mean a very quick change of government.

I'm not on luna but I do want waerd as my tribe. I think they are one of the best starter tribes but people are too hung up on the tribe sharing.

I personally don't see the problem with it, I doubt someone would waste their spark of life to rob a tribe that cares little for material things, Helping each other out would lead to everyone becoming better at their skills. Having the loyalty of your whole town, and being able to communicate with them from anywhere sounds incredible, I'm surprised that they aren't that popular.

This is just my opinion, but I think over the years mmo has moved away from the group experience and focused more on the solo experience. I know there are raids, dungeons, and etc but you are in it for yourself more than trying to help the group you are with since you queue with a random pool of people most of the time. People are use to relying on themselves and don't have to trust other because the game mechanics protects them. The only other games with open sharing like that are pvp driven survival games. They aren't known for the best communities lol.

I shall be producing a Waerd character that strictly functions as the mayor of a city. I shall heavily engage in countless methods towards ensuring that resources are never scarce through a Socialist-Democracy. In other terms, the peoples shall generally elect Laws and policies through a Democratic vote as long as it remains aligned with the city's municipal constitution.

It's a lot of information for one to disclose within one post.

I am interested in being one of the Weard. Though my own personal goals would be to be to wander the continent as an exterminator of monsters, explorer of ruins and collector of information so as to keep the balance.

I am thinking of having an alt that is an outcast Waerd stonemason who lives in T'oresk lands.

Basically her backstory is that she never really understood the hatred between the Waerd and T'oresk, but then again she never took to the teachings of the Two-fold Queen. She was always fascinated by any stories she heard of the T'oresk, even if they were always painted over with a veil of hatred.

When she came of age she decided to become an outcast, not really ever taking to the teachings of the Two-fold Queen, and set out to explore the world, in particular the T'oresk lands. She ran into a lot hatred from the T'oresk she met, but many were eventually won over by her friendly attitude towards them and their customs, especially her willingness to learn them, even in the face of total hatred towards her. They were also won over by the great stonework she would do for the communities she visited for free or at cost, while trying to make a name for herself.

Now she lives in the seat of a T'oresk county, befriended by the Count (my main) who saw some of her stonework in a T'oresk village she once visited and left behind. She is now tasked to bring the county seat to new heights of glory with marvelous stonework throughout the town/city. The Count and the stonemason are hoping that it will become a shining jewel in the T'oresk landscape, and maybe even help bring more understanding between the two cultures.

Good to see folks embracing the Weard, they were getting rejected a lot due to folks aversion to sharing stuff. Get a dedicated group together that embrace that philosophy and you should do well.

I would like to play a Weard as well. They are my favorite tribe so far and just seem to have so much depth within them. I've also been thinking of a backstory for my character. Kind of similar to Captain Alvord in a way where she feels stuck in system that she doesn't totally believe in. At the same time though I don't want her to just abandon the way she has been raised. So we'll see how it all works out.

As soon as we found about the Waerd, I was pretty much absolutely certain I would be in that tribe. It's made it difficult for real community building because it seems like there aren't even any Waerd dukes, but I am absolutely planning on being a Waerd count, one who specifically focuses on a county based around schools and learning (with perhaps some espionage thrown in for good measure).
