Sirona School of Animal Medicine will focus on the whole animal healing much like we do for humans. Our motto is Mind, Body, Spirit, Blood, and Bone because each equally as important to an animal’s survival as the other. The body, blood, and bone might be easier to heal but spirit and mind are still very important. Consider this. An animal with a broken spirit will not hunt. It lays down and dies. An animal with a mind full of terrors runs and hides rather than protect the pack.

We must provide healing for all 5 areas if we are to ask animals to feed us, cloth us, hunt for us, stand and fight for us, and live at our sides. This will cover beasts of burden and farm animals through hunting animals and riding animals and pets. And so our motto: “Mind, Body, Spirit, Blood, and Bone”

We will cover basic fist aid. Closing wounds and the best ways to do it for each situation. Treating infections, the best methods for each type and how get wounds to close after infections are defeated. Setting broken bones, splinting them and aiding in the healing. Illnesses and how to best treat them and to recognize when you cannot.

We will cover aspects of herbs and herbalism that will help in all 5 areas of healing, (some of this may be rp only because I don’t know what the mechanics of the game are yet). Which herbs work best in salves, tinctures, pastes, plasters, and teas, and how often to administer them.

We will cover any area of apothecary arts as it might apply to caring for our animals. Anything we can add to our arsenal is of benefit. This will work in unison with herbalism as many of the herbs you learn about can be combined into beneficial potions.

Releasing an animal. Knowing when it’s time to let them pass on and when to help them do so. Sometimes we just cannot do enough for them. Sometimes the injury is just beyond any skill and we need to know how to assess situations so we are not wasting precious time and resources in the field of battle on an animal that has no chance of survival. We will always take the gentlest approach when helping them pass is needed if their human companion is unable to do it.
