Tribal Armor Concept: Janoan Heavy Armor

It is shiny time, my fellow Elyrians! And the end of an armor set, to boot! Over the last two shinies, we've shown you the Janoan Light Armor concept sculpt and the Medium Armor concept sculpt. So, to complete the set, it's time to take a look at the Heavy Armor concept sculpt. Have a look:

I particularly like the way the spine is tied into the rest of the armor here. It shows a certain ingenuity and is a nice nod to the craft needed to build armor like this. Despite appearances to outsiders, craftsmannship matters to the Janoa as much as it does other tribes.

I look forward to seeing what individuals do with their armor; which skulls they use, whether they opt to bring in out-of-homeland materials to reinforce designs as a result of outside cultural influence, etc. And, candidly, I'm gratified that we're incorporating a crafting system that will allow for those sorts of questions to be asked.

Enjoy and stay shiny my friends!

I like how the body armour looks with this and the medium armor but to me those animal heads and skulls look comical. The concept art looks far more intimidating than the sculpt with those round surprised eyes :D

I'm not sure how you are supposed to see through that because it looks like the eye level of the wearer and the skull don't align? Without the jawbone the eye levels might have been more in line?

I agree with the last comment. The 3 body armor are great, but these helmets look comical.

Great work Snipe, I can't fault it but..... As a Kypiq everything has a soul and shouldn't be killed... Except for the Janoa, they need to die for killing and then wearing the bones of the victim.

I think it's the slight downward angle on the outer edge of each eye socket. It gives it a slightly quizzical or worried look. Angling the inner eyesocket to mimic an angry eyebrow angling down would make it more intimidating imo. I struggled with this derpy look when I crafted my costume based on this picture.

Really, really awesome. I could totally imagine Janoa fighting exotic Gorillas
