Signature Image Banner Dimensions

Just wanted to know the ideal scale/size for creating banner signatures that goes at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks!

I believe it is around the ball park of 1200x190.

Originally mine was 1200x200 and there was a little bit of clipping on the bottom

Do you know how to attach an image as a signature in the bottom by chance? I am trying to look for a coding example. I used to be able to do it but have forgotten.

Just put it in your signature box, and have an image hosting site host the image you want. Make sure the url you use is one that ends with an image file though and not .com or anything else.

Edit: Scratch that. Reverse it. Host and then paste in box.

I recall there was someone who posted a manual show how to edit, center, and do other things with posting and signatures. I'll try to look for that. I'm trying to find a way to center my signatures as it's not 100% full width.

Not sure about centering it using html or markdown.

I used photoshop and just made the canvas size full width while centering the picture in the middle previously. Centers it manually so to speak while keeping the edges transparent.

Found it! https://chroniclesofelyria.com/forum/topic/332/forum-code-markdown-quick-reference-cheetsheet

There isn't a way to center it, you have to make the image have blank space on both sides to have it "centered"

signature test

Sent you a PM to try and help you out.

Format is as follows.

![](example.png)

Needs exclamation, no spaces between brackets and parenthesis, and url must ultimately be an image file type.

Hi Violet,

I took your signature dimension thinking that it was the correct height and width. Then I just discovered that your sig is appearing correct because the forum is auto adjusting your image to fit via width despite it really being larger than it appears. You just happened to have the height after auto adjusting the width. Since I clipped the width based of your dimension, it's cut off vertically now. All my signatures need to be adjusted. :/

Please SBS, the forum signatures need auto adjusted by width and height, not just width. Because images that are too long vertically will get cut off. The forum signature is not very friendly and people are having a hard time inserting the sigs and properly making the correct dimensions. Something to consider on future website upgrades maybe.

So can we correctly say everyone that sigs are 100x600? Can people provide the max height and width for signature banners. No auto adjusting please.

I originally did mine at 1x6, and saw a little bit of clipping at the bottom.

I think 190x1200 is a tad better.

Thank you. I see that the dimension you provided is still relying on the forum to scale your image by width but not by height. :P A bit dangerous as anyone with a long height will get their image clipped. I've got 15 sigs I need to redo. The section where you insert you signature and preview is provided at the bottom, displayed the entirety of the image. I went off of this thinking it is the final appearance. This was not so because a client reported that their sig was cut off on actual posts. So that signature preview wasn't accurate as it didn't account clipping and the ideal correct size.
