Yeah I hope it will be in the game, but even if it isn't at launch, nothing is stopping you from using the research system to invent one.

True Zimmah, but I'd hope the very expensive Design Experience I purchased during this game's Kickstarter was not false advertising ;) I'm hoping that the research system can be used to modify and improve the design in later stages of the game.

I would most certainly reserve you a Shield. I'd like to see what develops about the Lantern Shields nature. Will it require specialized training to use? Can anyone use it at a basic level, and training allows for more functionality? Will it's use initially be locked to the tribe I belong to when I get the blueprint? Will anti-Kypiq sentimentality or other factors promote a desire to keep the Lantern Shield use and/or ownership to a trusted order of trained users?
I've lots of questions to answer before I begin making any concrete plans. As is pretty much the way I approach most of the game really.
I didn't know you had a DE. I think a DE could be used for this (if it's a weapon/shield/fighting style DE).
