How old should mayors be?

While there is plenty of precedent for 15 year old divine right kings, the idea of playing a 15 year old elected mayor seems quite the stretch! I happen to live in a town with a very successful mayor who was first elected at 25, so I don't feel the need for my character to be too old. I'm thinking 25-30 is realistic enough and will give me enough years ahead of me?

SbS says 16 if you live in the EU, 13 if you live elsewhere.

The mayor of Fair Haven, VT is 3, and the mayor of Cormorant, MN is 7.

They're also a goat and a dog respectively.

All things being equal and barring deaths, you should live ~52 years regardless of the age you started at. The distinction you're talking about here is between dying at 64 vs dying at 77 but the play time is comparable.

I will cede my position if a qualified goat or dog comes along though.

A kypiq or horothi is still most likely going to be smaller than a 13 year old from another tribe. These elyrian mayors would have been doing training their whole lives for their positions. Irl there are children who lead other children in wars so it's not unreasonable to think a 13 year old could be a mayor. Anyways they would have the counsel of the other village elders or people put in office by their parents to help guide them.

And yet I'm willing to bet they're doing a better job then the 60 old guy who is in office in my home city.

Constant optimism will not solve your problems, but it will annoy enough people to be worth the effort.

Personally I feel age and maturity level are 2 different things. The worlds best chess player at one time was under 13.

The real focus should be how he/she leads and what their propaganda looks like

Padme from Star Wars was elected queen at age 14. The idea was that a young ruler possessed a form of pure, childlike wisdom that adults lacked. Obviously not realistic, but the idea's there, whether it's a good one or not.

I don’t remember if it’s part of the new EU or the now defunct old EU. The reason Padme was elected so young was on the hope that she would A) continue to reign for a long time (the King/Queen chose when to step down) and B) would b easier to mold/groom into a puppet leader.
