Dance of Dynasties Clarification

Hi there.

I recently got the Bloodlines package and I am still confused on the government/political aspects of the game. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

The design journal on Kingdom and Land Management dives into those details. Do you have a specific question?

Hi Umbral,

From a general view, the political hierarchy is in this following order:

[ Monarch | Rules a Kingdom ] [ Duke | Rules a duchy ] [ Count | Rules a county ] [ Mayor / Baron | Runs a settlement or barony ]

A kingdom is composed of duchies, duchies are composed of counties, and counties are composed of settlements.

What specifically interests you about the government/political aspects of Chronicles of Elyria?

  1. The Dance of Dynasties, as houses compete for political power. This includes things like gossip, assassinations, heirs, and popularity.
  2. The formal duties of taxation, forming laws using CoE's contract system, or maintaining order in the realm which a noble operates in.
  3. Or maybe the goals in which political leaders set for their communities. Whether that be encouraging farming in a community, or inspiring a kingdom to advance in technology.

The political aspects of CoE are very complex, in that you could write pages about how dynamic and unstable they are. Very similar to our own world.

If you have more specific questions, feel free to post them! :)
