It sounds like a question of whether or not you have any special forum access at all, because if you do you should've had access regardless of whether or not anything was going on.

Might just be alpha 1 that gets it but I could be wrong.

The only people who have the Early Access forum section is Alpha 1. There is no other way to get access to that section.
