Azlateca is a military and commerce focused double county with a culture similar to the Aztecs (without the sacrifices). The primary goals of the County are to fortify Acrium’s South West borders, develop diverse trade markets, and research unique military technology and stone architecture. The secondary focus of the County is to host lavish feasts and festivals, while competing in all Duchy events.
Count Lucio Orange holds the Minister of Public Affairs seat on the Acrium Duchy Council. This firm relationship with the Acrium Capital of Azmar will create lucrative trade opportunities, added security, and access to all that Azmar has to offer. Trade and travel will be easy on land through an extensive road system, and possible by water through a large river that runs through the county and to the coast. Azlateca is also planned to be on the border of Acrium, which will provide additional trade opportunity to the neighboring Duchy.
The long term goal is to research, develop, and produce metal weapons that are compatible with the Janoan military tactics. Another long term aspiration is to research stonemasonry, excavate and harvest the available stone, and develop unique architecture akin to the Aztecs and Mayans. Azlateca will be a close knit community with strong ties to the Duchy.
Though Azlateca is a double County it holds a small number of settlements, which is ideal for the overall defence plan and consolidation of trade. The County Capital City, Tradena will be centralized, and located on the large river that flows through it. The current and early industry focus will be lumber, pottery, hunting, and leatherworking.
Count Lucio Orange will be heavily involved in making Azlateca, and it’s settlements as successful as possible. Citizens of Azlateca will ideally be very competitive in all Duchy events.
Azlateca will have a large standing military force composed of traditional Janoan warriors and elite Teca warriors. The Teca warriors are fierce, distinct, and will take on a style of fighting similar to the elite Aztec eagle warriors. The Teca will be equipped light metal spears, jagged metal and stone swords, and brightly decorated with pelts, feathers, and dyed leather. When they enter the field of battle there will be no doubting which county of Acrium they belong to.
