Currency

I may have just missed it in the sea of threads....but does anyone know if there will be one form of currency across the continent or if each kingdom will have their own?

There's no final answer on this as far as I'm aware, but I believe each kingdom will have its own currency initially because it makes sense for a world that has existed for hundreds of years to have some form of currency in it. But once we're in-game, kingdoms may also have the means by which to create their own currency. However, easier said than done.

Okay cool thanks. Was wondering if going between kingdoms as a traveler would require you to stop at banks to get the correct currency at whatever conversion rate to be able to make purchases within. Will be exciting to see where it ends up.

Hoping for a simple gold or silver system honestly. The idea of not being able to trade due to currency headaches doesn't sound like very fun or engaging gameplay to me.

Same, not everything has to be complex. Everyone understands copper, silver, and gold system as well.

The possibility of currency exchange rates as a point of contract negotiation is something I hope we have -- and it does sound like fun and engaging gameplay to me.

The merchant pack does come with a set of merchant scales - so even if different coins/weights, such can still be figured out, even if one Kingdom's silver bit is worth 2 from somewhere else.

I think the easiest thing to do would be to speak directly with monarchs before game release and work with them to design a currency for their kingdom and design and implement it from launch rather than fart about implementing something so huge and difficult and important via gameplay mechanics.
