Fellow alchemist here, yet it would seem we may be some ways away.
Has anyone heard anything whatsoever in relation to Alchemy within the game even some dots so that we may join them up insofar as the system might work roughly even?

They haven't really discussed Alchemy or most of the skills as of yet, weapons and armor seem to have gotten the most info, but even that's been minimal to date.

The Queens Duchy of Darkholm, Kingdom of Blackheart (NA-W) has a thriving community of crafters, many of whom are already planning crafting guilds and associations.
You will only be able to join one school per character but you can join many crafting guilds, one per skill line. So if you want to be an alchemist and a cook you can be in a guild for each skill line. So there is definitely an advantage to becoming a member of a community and getting to know whom you will be in close proximity with ig.
At this point we are all waiting on the ig mechanics for crafting guilds to be revealed by CoE. If you are not already on the Blackheart Kingdom Discord I invite you to join us, lots of avid crafters to chat with.
