Distributed Computing

Considering the scale of the game and the increasing adoption rate of high core count CPUs (and possible advent of multi die GPUs), I was wondering wether SpatialOS/SBE could support distributed computing and how we all could possibly benefit from it.

Specifically, I was thinking about something akin to crypto mining. So we could opt to donate computing power in order to increase the simulation detail even more. In turn, we'd get SP or something similar, but more specialized. We could do so solo or in pools (think cities, guilds, fiefdoms, etc) and then spend the accumulated credit on story, event or fluff packages, that normally would put additional strain on the servers.

I don't know wether that's feasible at all, but I would think this could add greatly to the overall gaming experience and would allow SBS to push boundaries even further.
