An important part of Arkadia is its Military. The Military keeps the kingdom safe and brings stability and peace to Arkadia. The Army is divided into three offices of equal importance and influence:
the Military Forces
From the highest General to the freshest recruit. The Military Forces are the troops, the main body of an army. Professionalism in combat and strategy are of utmost importance.
the Praetorian Guard
The Praetorians are the military police force of Arkadia. They intervene in misuse of power over citizens or soldiers and ensure loyalty to Arkadia and the king is preserved.
the Ministry of Defence
Under the lead of the senator militaris, the ministry controles the budget of the army, how the higher officers realize their missions or where to improve our defences.
The Arkadian Army has missions to fulfill. They are constantly active and give the Arkadian soldiers a reason to fight in the ranks. These Missions where imposed by legatus maximus Raziel, our King, and he wishes every man or woman in the army to fulfill these missions as best they can:
Protect
The Arkadian Army has to protect the realm and its inhabitants from all external forces intending to harm it. The Arkadian Army not only has to fight off invading or rebelling forces but also has to prepare properly and professionally in combat and strategy to be able to prevent such possible hazards.
Secure
Not only external forces can harm the realm but also crime or catastrophes. The Arkadian Army has to keep the streets and settlements of the kingdom safe for the Arkadian People to maintain their civil lives. The Army has to fight organised crime, patrol the streets in and out of cities and fortify where it is deemed necessary.
Support
The People of Arkadia are most important to the Arkadian Army. Therefore the Army will try to help out wherever it is needed. It may help farmers protect their land against wild animals, protect merchants on travels or fund important organisations in need. Whatever is needed to support the unity of Arkadia and the Army can spare, shall be shared.
The tasks, given to the Army by the king, demand that the Army is focused. Therefore the army has values which will guide its troops during service time to fulfill their mission:
Perfection
Every soldier in the Arkadian Army will strive for perfection. It is his will to fulfil every mission best as can be done. It doesn’t matter in which field you serve or what your mission is, you will always aim to get better! Faults are made to learn from but not to repeat!
Competence
The Arkadian Army wants to become the most respected army, not by numbers but by proof of competence. Every soldier shall be a respectable specialist, every officer shall be an example of a well-educated leader and every general shall be in charge because of his experience and achievements, not only his name. This will ensure the order of ranks should be respected and leaders will lead with care.
Unity
Every single soldier of the Arkadian Army is worth as much as any general or officer. There are no deeds of a single man but the deeds of the Army in whole. We share one king, one kingdom, one banner. We work in divisions of specialised fields but still we know a single field can’t stand on its own. Being part of the Arkadian Army means being respected for protecting, securing and supporting your People.
As written earlier, the Military forces build the fighting arm of the Arkadian Army. The soldiers are well trained in combat and therefore form the shield and sword for our great kingdom.
The Forces are well structured and the command clearly determined:
Cohort
For the normal soldier, the cohort is his "family". Raised and trained in the stronghold of the Cohort, he feels strongly tied to the cohort and his brethren in arms.
A normal soldier starts as a recruit until he finishes ground training, but with the promotion to Legionarius, he is ready for service. After a few years of service and constant proof of loyalty and skill, a Legionary can even be promoted to Princeps, a veteran. Princeps are qualified to train recruits and can try to climb the ladder even further.
The cohort is not only made up of soldiers but competent leaders as well. At the top of the hierarchy in a Cohort is the Praefectus Castrorum, the Baron. He has to organize his cohort and see that his soldiers are well trained. He has much freedom of how exactly he wants to conduct the cohort, as long as he fulfills the few ground rules, given to all Barons. The Praefectus can appoint a Centurio, his second hand, who supports the Praefectus with his tasks or even supports the Optios in commanding the soldiers. The Centurion is the highest possible rank to acchieve in the Army by a non-aristocrat. The Praefectus, or Centurio, can appoint up to 2 Optios in his cohort. Optios are the officers of the soldiers and, in the case of battle, fight alongside the troops they command.
Every Cohort will have an official number but not a nickname, as the Legion will have. The numbers start at 1 in every Legion.
Legion
All the Cohorts in a Duchy together form a Legion under the command of a Legatus, the Duke. The Legatus has to control and command his Barons. He has to give them and their Cohort missions and control the conduction of said missions.
Next to the official number, a Legion will have a "nickname", which the Legatus can choose. (Ex: Leg IV "Brutalica")
In the end every soldier can easily declare which unit he belongs too. (Ex: Leg IV, Coh IX)

The Ministry of Defence controles the other two arms of the Arkadian Army in monetary and organizational affairs. The Ministry confirms or denies the budget for the Legions and Cohorts respectively.
The Ministry is lead by the Senator Militaris, he is supported by the Scriptors, who each is supported by the Quinti.
Senator Militaris
As head of the Ministry the Senator Militaris has the overall responsibility over the funds to and from the Arkadian Army. He has to control the Army does not cost more, than planned in the budget. The Senator Militaris is the only one who can change the budget plan for a Legion.
Scriptor
There will be one Scriptor for every Duchy. The Scriptor can change the budget plan for the Cohorts in the Duchy. He will, together with his Quinti, inspect and control the Cohorts. All Scriptors have to report to the Senator Militaris about the budget changes, inspections and situation in their Duchy.
Quintus
As the Name already sais, there will be up to 5 Quinti per Duchy. A Quintus inspects the Cohorts in his domain, how they are organized and conducted, he controls that the money is spent according to the Budget and will report to his Scriptor about the results he got.

As previously stated, i intend to serve in Broseidon's area of control... i don't know what legio is assigned there though.
But King Raziel should be the Emperor... i think.. wich was the Commander of all Legions. In the game is already a King .
What are you talking about? Raziel is our true High King, there's only one & there's no Emperor in this game.
I was suggesting because we are a Roman organized... would be nice to make him an Emperor wich is more than king? I know that title are customisable..
