Greetings Spongehunter, I am sorry but I do not believe that is the real Wessex group you are referring too. I am apart of The Duchy of Wessex and we are in fact moving to this game but on NA-W. The real Duke of Wessex His Grace Manus Dei, has made it official vie Elyria forums here

The name Wessex has a deep history in the real world and it is no surprise that many gamers wish to enrich their game play by tying that play time with historic references. Indeed, that has always been our intent, and history, like the the rays of the sun or the air we breathe, belongs to no one.
As such I want to wish the City of Aincrad and the County of Wessex much success in Chronicles of Elyria on the Luna server.
