I see it in line with any skill really, if you focus on learning it you will progress same as if you learn farming or one handed weapon.

The mechanics are the same, you can listen to others and learn, or read a book in that language and learn or listen to a teacher of said language and learn or combine these and learn faster....

Then as you learn, teach your skill to another who wants to learn of lower knowledge, and learn even more as you use and teach.. Have a great time, with learning a very valuable skill line.
