SOLARIS GAMING AND BETTING ASSOCIATION (SGBA)
Who Are We?
We are the sole leading organization in games of chance. Our membership is comprised of high nobility, gentry, and tradeworkers alike. We welcome all Elyrians, regardless of kingdom - as long as you have a sweet tooth for gambling.
Our association is dedicated to providing venues for our members to wager money in games of chance. We will be hosting events at least bi-weekly to which betting is highly encouraged by anyone with extra money to spend. Regardless of your social standing or economic class, we will give you an outlet to earn large amounts of money.
Location and History
The Headquarters for the Solaris Gaming and Betting Association is located in the capital City of Azmar, County of Agrion, Duchy TBD, Kingdom of Solaris. The SGBA was originally created by Sir Tinleigh Pryzin, the knight who famously gained knighthood by drinking 156 tall glasses of whole milk in one sitting. Sir Pryzin was originally a bookmaker and avid gambler, yet won his knighthood in a bet. As a risk-averse knight in pursuit of promoting gambling to the whole of Solaris, he founded the Solaris Gambling Association in the year 777 within the economic powerhouse City of Azmar.
Membership
There are few requirements for membership, and none of them involve trades or skills. Members can apply from any Kingdom.
Members must pay a very small in-game fee once per in-game year to maintain membership and receive its benefits. Benefits of membership include waiving of entry fees at the gates of our hosted events, as well as access to entering certain events as competitors without additional cost, such as jousting or duelling tournaments (which have large prizes). Members will also receive discounts for tickets in our monthly lottery system.
Associates and Sponsors
In order for one to become an Associate, one must be a member of the SGBA and bet a certain high amount of money (to be determined based on currency values, inflation, exchange rates etc.) at two or more events. For events employing parimutuel betting, KGBA Associates have the benefit of being privy to the current betting odds of the pool before the final calculation of odds.
To become a Sponsor, three courses of action could be taken.
- Investment in SGBA facilities after launch may be rewarded with a Sponsor position.
- Another means would be for land-owning nobility only, in which land is donated for construction of a SGBA branch headquarters outside of the County of Agrion for business and sale of lottery tickets.
- The last means would be to consistently provide services for venues such as selling food at major events (profits will be kept by the sponsor companies with the SGBA taking a share), or to offer free services for improvements of venues, such as masonry guilds offering to upgrade infrastructure of a SGBA facility.
Becoming a sponsor is an investment, so all sponsors would have options to receive percentages of SGBA profits from events on the basis of the scale of their donations. Sponsors also receive the benefits of Associates and Membership.
If you are interested in gambling your money, whether casually or high-risk, or you would just like to enjoy the events, the SGBA encourages you to become a member.
Members from other Kingdoms are welcome; however, Solaris will have the most advantages of base Memberships due to proximity to events.
