Officals

throughout history even in medieval times there have been officals for each kingdom (E.g. Prime Minister, Chief of Military Affairs , Generals etc) I am interested if people can obtain positions like them for example maybe kingdoms have famous generals throughout their history who fight on behalf of their kings or kingdoms will have a famous general making them reconsider war. I am also interested in how war will work in the game and how much will strategy come into it for example a good general can normally win a battle of 1:1.5 against a new one if not at greater odds. As war will be at the center of the games dance of dynasties I am interested how much depth there will be.

I can't answer the war question but the first part about officials is a yes. Many of the kings, dukes, counts mayors etc, will have various people to advise them and help with the day to day operation of the relevant organisation. If you happen to be good enough (and probably know the right people) they might give you a job, same with being given a military command.

thank you the depth of the game is amazing I am also interested if NPCs can have these roles and of if you know how loyal NPCs are or if they can betray you if someone persuades them enough.

Yes, even NPC can have these ranks and how loyal they are you can not say exactly, it depends on the parameters such as. 1) payment 2) Politics (good / evil) as you are to your people. 3) Religion (Act) that conforms to the religion or is heretical. It may be that when an NPC is dissatisfied that he deserts and goes away, or when he is bribed by the enemy, he can even assassinate you.

That's translated to Google.

All in all, NPCs are more likely to be loyal, reliable, and predictable than PCs.

I've visited many discords and they are actively seeking those who could better their lands, towns and defenses. Such as agriculture minister who than needs two or more below them to help with the total delegation of duties and responsibility of running a well oiled machine or kingdom.

Many courts and kingdoms have such structures. The law system (part of contracts) may support it. We don’t know. However, even if not, there should be officials. The job of ruling is very time intensive, based in the information we have, and delegation would be wise. I expect there will be some of that and that the contract system will support it, but it won’t be built into the game mechanics otherwise.

One official was discussed in Elyria Discord yesterday (Tuesday) IIRC. This is the sheriff. Sheriffs are county officials that are responsible for tax collection, criminal penalties, criminal apprehension, and so forth. The position is built into the game mechanics and is intended to be an NPC position. All of this is to the best of my recollection right now, because I'm too tired and lazy to look it up, so feel free to correct me if you know better.
