Virtues of the Hrothi?

"Strangely, while the Hrothi value dedication to the ideals of the Virtues, they have no particular negativity toward the other religions, nor do they view Hrothi who identify with other faiths in any negative light, so long as they uphold their virtue."

Would the freedom of being a Navy privateer/Pirate be a virtue? I know liberty walks alongside virtue and they are complementary but would that be a virtue of the Hrothi faith? Or would it be better to be non-religious as a seafarer?

Freedom isn't one of the 7 virtues, nor is piracy part of any religion that I'm aware of. So I think this may be rather wishful thinking.

Here are the 7 virtues and 7 vices, so piracy would almost certainly be viewed as a vice (greed, injustice, wrath ... take your pick):

Virtues

Diligence
Temperance
Charity
Justice
Patience
Kindness
Chastity

Vices

Sloth
Gluttony
Greed
Injustice
Envy
Wrath
Lust

There's also some lore that pertains to this subject you might find useful in the Cardinal Miracle of the Second Age.

I know those are the Christian virtues.... I couldn't find anything on what were considered virtues to the Hrothi as virtues are different to everyone whether they adhere to a religion or no...

I guess the devs didn't try very hard coming up with their own set of virtues, but oh well... thanks for the link! https://image.slidesharecdn.com/virtues-141108143339-conversion-gate01/95/virtues-1-638.jpg?cb=1415458143

Also being a Privateer in the Kingdoms Navy could be considered to fall under ones sense of 'justice', due 'diligence' and 'patience' of working the sails and rowing if the wind dies, bringing riches back for kingdom and people would be 'kindness' and 'charity', 'chastity' in between ports, and 'temperance' once the rum is gone lol

I think you already figured it out on your own, but just to be clear, those are actually the 7 virtues of the Virtori faith, which the Hrothi worship. The similarity to Christianity is deliberate, so don't get confused by it. I'm quoting from the Chronicles of Elyria wiki and lore, not from Christian scripture. :P

Actually, those virtues/vices differ from the Christian list in a very intersting way, removing humility/pride and adding justice/injustice. That is a very interesting and meaningful change from an ethical/political perspective.

Humility is a virtue, but it cannot co-occur with truth.

I don't follow your thinking on that. Humility is not the same as self-deprecation, nor is pride proof against self-deception.
