[Show Us Your Domain] The Royal Anktree of Dréshurí

When you step out of the towering Ziggurats, into the winding stone streets, you find yourself surrounded by the trees and the towering mountains in the distance, a winding river snaking through mountains leading out to the ocean. Dréshurí is a land full of wonder, natural beauty and a rich culture. The land, unified under the vision of Raz’ján, is an relatively untouched paradise. The focus of the land is living with it, advancing in order to keep it defended. Hidden corners of the land allow for a new discovery within ever day you go out into the wilderness.

To understand how this land came to be unified, we must look back into the past. The founder of the Kingdom and the Balaúr Clan was the Klave of the Anktree of Dréshurí known as Raz’ján. On his first hunt as a recognized member of his clan, he discovered a creature unlike any he had ever seen or heard tales about. He followed it, intrigued by its beauty and its elegance. Its scales were the colors of jade and emeralds. Its eyes glowed a brilliant gold. It wrapped around trees efortlessly cutting through the air. He saw it hunt down a creature for its meal, and while he believed it to be distracted, silently moved in for a closer look.

Suddenly he was face to face with the creature. But it did not strike, it watched him. Its eyes gazing at him directly, he realized that with a simple lunge this creature could kill him. However it didn't. It spoke, in the language of his people, Jenu. At first, he could not believe it, but he heard it. It spoke of an ancient threat amongst the Janoa, of creatures living in the depths of the mountains, serpents with humanoid forms. It told him that it could no longer fight these creatures, it was old… and the last of its kind, and it would go to sleep for the final time.

Raz’ján was determined, it was his opportunity to not only prove himself in the hunt. But unify the Anktrees and become a force to bear against this threat. He returned to his campsite, gathered his supplies and weapons and trekked to the mountains of his forefathers. His steely determination and desire to bring an end to this ancient threat propelled him forward unlike any desire he had experienced before.

When he arrived, he found one cave entrance to be especially foreboding, bones littered the entrance. The stench of death and rot filled the air. His heart felt weak, he wondered if it was worth it. What if this… feathered serpent… this... wingless dragon… was really trying to trick him? He shook his head. He would conquer this creature, and if it was the serpent, then truly he was foolish to challenge the first born of the Klave.

He gripped his spear, its metal glinting in the light as he slowly crept into the cave, he looked about. His eyes searching for anything that could give him a hint as to where this creature was. He quietly stepped through the bones, careful not to give any hint of sound to whatever lived there. He stopped, his eyes catching in the dim light, an immense creature, with a broad mann torso, wide stanced legs, monstrous claws and a long tail… a Serpentuar! But they were rumored to be dead. He knew to prove his claim, he would have to produce the head to his father and his clan. Otherwise they would laugh and suggest he had too much of the spirit herb. He quietly waited for the creature to leave, knowing in order to down such a beast he would need to prepare traps.

After the creature left at dusk, he prepared a number of traps to help keep the creature stunned while he went in for a killing blow. He did his best to prepare, and then he waited, for hours it passed, deep into the night when he heard the sounds of its slithering tail and its steps. He pressed his back against the wall, having ensured his body was covered with the foul smelling rot to mask his scent in the cave. He felt the steps of the creature before he could see it, the ground shook softly and built into a crescendo until he knew the creature was about to step into his trap. He would forge his destiny here and let his legend ring through the ages...
