Although many of the Hrothi of Tarag-dûm wear long beards as a local tribal tradition, deep within Sarsenhal the Burned Priests in the Cathedral of Daemon ritually singe off their hair at the yearly heathen-burning festival. Here the priests invoke the flaming phoenix of Demalion - blessed by Daemon - fuelled by the cremation of a living heathen criminal.
"As our Incendiary Lord burns His foes, so too does He cauterise our wounds; as His fiery wrath is turned upon His enemies, so too does His fury kindle our hearts; and as His embers ignite the houses of the heathens, so too does He warm our hearths and fuel our forges. Let the phoenix spirit of His will be reborn with this sacrifice ere we fall from His grace, and let us spread His message like wildfire o'er the world of Menn!"
