Description:
Sparrow's Nest is a trade town located in a triple transitional biome of Tropical Wetlands, Swamp, and Tidal Marsh. The primary Guild, Sparrow Trade and Courier, is owned by the leadership of the town and deals heavily in imports and exports with the neighboring Kingdoms, as well as a solid network running throughout all of Riftwood. The population consists primarily of To'Resk and Dras, with hints of Janoa and Neran.
All tribes of mann are welcome to Sparrow's Nest and exchange of wares and goods are highly encouraged!
History:
The Town of Sparrow's Nest formerly was a poor village outlying the nearby Capital of To'rarem. Consisting primarily of To'Resk and a heavy population of Dras who did not desire to migrate to the Swamplands, the population has always been kind to those of less fortune.
Bordering the two Kingdoms of Blackheart and Tyria and being mostly isolated from the rest of Riftwood for many years, a large influx of visitors and trade had been carried out across borders.
The Village Elder, Va'run Vousolins, sought to improve conditions for his people; studiously seeking out scientific and technological advancements in hopes that industry could improve the well-being of his citizens.
Being the sole person working to develop these advancements had always been slow. His people knew him to be friendly but overworked and a shut-in. It would be several months at a time before he would produce something new for the community to use in order to make life easier or more productive. While the people enjoyed his inventions, some quirky or faulty, the town never had the capacity or resources to mass produce any of his developments.
His wife, Tallu Vousolins spoke to him of her pregnancy of which they were both overjoyed! Yet Va'run was troubled that his son would grow up poor and stuck in a rut as he had. After carefully thinking on the fortune he had been saving up to purchase materials for a large farming device he had been developing, he was struck with a new idea. Rather than putting risk into something that may not pan out, instead he would invest his savings into forming a Trade and Courier service.
The thought that he would be the only one being able to work on such time consuming projects on his own, cascaded into creating a backbone which could inspire others to work on their own; with an influx of new materials he could bring in to the Village.
He pulled all the clout and connections he had been making with others across and beyond the County. The Sparrow Trade and Courier Guild had been formed!
What followed next was a surprisingly quick growth of trade, within and beyond Riftwood. Markets started to form within his Village as it rapidly expanded and people started to develop their own trades. Highways to the inland were established to move goods that were being imported from the neighboring Kingdoms and the Village became a Town!
The residents were grateful for the economic boom so much that they petitioned Va'run to rename the Town to Sparrow's Nest, in honor of the good that his Guild had done for the settlement.
His child, Aku'uran Vousolins, was taught carefully by his father the aspects of the trade and the way the Town was run. Being a tinkerer at heart, Aku'uran realised the sacrifice his father made to his own hobby in order to empower the people to carry out their own and respected his decision very much.
When the time came, Aku'uran eventually inherited both the Mayor title and Guild ownership from his father. To this day, he has been working to outperform his father's expectations and achievements, going so far as to turn the Guild and the Town into something known across all of Elyria.
