Introduction

Located within the kingdom of Tylsia, the duchy of Forestnight Arch (Forestnight) is under the rule of Duke Sigewulfe Brekvorn. Forestnight encompases many tribes with a wide range of personalities which bring with them an even wider range of intentions, goals and skill sets.

Duke Brekvorn intends to expand the current martial capabilities and resources of Forestnight while also encouraging and furthering the primary and secondary industries, and technological research within the duchy. The geographical location of Forestnight also emphasises its importance in domestic and international trade which in turn will be encouraged.

Government

Forestnight will be ruled by the duke with a Chamber of Nobles beneath him comprised of the counts of Forestnight and himself as the head of the council. In the event of the duke being unavailable Count Shax Demetriou will fulfill the duke’s responsibilities until his return.

Outside of this structure is a Ducal Advisory Council that holds no recognised authority within the duchy and is purely advisory in nature. However, members of the Advisory Council may have responsibilities delegated to them by the duke. The members of this council are selected by the Duke himself regardless of title or station within the duchy.

In regards to how the counties of Forestnight will be run the duke holds the view that counties should be semi-independent and run by their respective count. However, in the event of armed conflict or civil unrest the duke will become more involved in the management of relevant counties until the armed conflict or civil unrest has passed.

Goals of Forestnight Arch

Short Term

Communication: Begin the process of setting up notice boards in settlements for contract posting, advertising and recruitment notices and offers. Also, expanding the Discord for trade, defence and more.

Defence: Removal of rogue elements within the duchy such as bandits and predatory/violent creatures.

Economy: Working with the merchants and traders of Forestnight as well as traveling merchants to create appropriate regulation and safety to encourage the safe flow of goods.

Industry: Cataloguing finite and renewable resource locations within Forestnight as they become known to the duchy.

Infrastructure: Improving the intercounty roads as well as the highways between Forestnight and its neighbouring duchies.

Politics: Networking with Forestnight’s neighbouring duchies as well as foreign duchies for the purposes of trade and defence.

Long Term

Communication: Further building on the feedback of our citizens and visitors we will improve the avenues of communication to and from all levels of authority where viable.

Defence: Ensuring the integrity of the duchy’s borders from external and internal strife through strategically placed baronies.

Economy: Maintaining a growing and stable economy through regulation and appropriate taxation where relevant to maintain strong domestic and foreign trade.

Industry: Continuing to cataloguing finite and renewable resource locations within Forestnight as they become known to the duchy.

Infrastructure: Maintaining the roads between settlements and our highways to neighbouring duchies we intend to maintain the mobility of citizens and visitors to the duchy. Furthermore, the establishment of sea trade routes where possible.

Politics: Networking with our neighbouring duchies as well as prospect trading partners from the other kingdoms.

The city of Ise Thalas is focused on education as an export, primarily teaching vocational practices such as crafting skills, and connecting people with masters of their craft from which to learn. And there is also a focus on scholarly education, with the intention of opening opportunities in history, and examining records for info on possible world story events.

Business Opportunities: Whether you are a trader looking to move goods from place to place, a merchant looking to put down roots in a settlement or an opportunist seeking short or long term business ventures Forestnight has ample opportunities for all trade minded persons. Being located on the coast bordering Aequitas opportunities for intranational and international trade are throughout the duchy for any who would seek them out!

Local Events: Whether you're seeking to display your martial prowess or your personal skills and talents then look no further than Forestnight. Many of the counts intend to hold local fairs and events and the duke intends to organise an official duchy tournament team to represent the duchy at the Tournament of Champions. If you're interested in bringing your skills and talents to the table, you will be able to with local festivals and fairs that will be hosted throughout Forestnight.

County of Auchanor Barrows - Count Shax Demetriou

The county of Auchanor Barrows will be focusing on furthering technology with relation to alchemy (poisons, weaponry, poultices, etc) and carpentry (architecture and transport). For location, I desire a county seat on the coast, this desire is my only deciding factor when it comes to tribe and biome. The focus of the county seat will be research, while the wider county’s focus will be more general and open to player influence.

County of Gartmoor - Count Gartsonn

Gartmoor as a county will focus on the retrieval and dissemination of information, both strategic and general. It's main trade will be in cartography and exploration over land and sea. Whilst not specialising in a second trade it will have a hand in anything that can be purchased, with coin or other means.

County of Hartelione - Duke Sigewulfe Brekvorn

As the capital county of Forestnight, Hartelione will be located in a central position of the duchy and will be aiming to improve and bolster the duchy in all aspects with an emphasis on military strength. Primary and Secondary Industries will also be emphasized as to support surrounding counties and further provide trade opportunities gathers, crafters and traders.

County of Montivory Cross - Count Daigen Ramx

The county of Montivory’s primary focuses are defence and trade. The county is one of the western gateways to the duchy, boasting mountain ranges and a lake, drawing in tourists and vacationers alike.

County of Oakwater - Count Odo Faulkner

Oakwater will be aiming to establish the county as a trade hub for the region centered on the county seat of Panoga by facilitating viable primary (such as lumber, clay and food) and secondary industries (carpentry, pottery and textiles) in order to support a range of local products and services.

County of Trelia - Count Tamanier Gartly

The primary focus of Trelia is combat with a secondary focus of blacksmithing both armour and weaponry. The focus of Trelia is to provide the duchy with an alternate training ground and garrisons to supplement the one provided by the capital as well as to provide a first line of defence to give the rest of the duchy time to prepare for war.

Auchanor Academy of Alchemy (S)

The academy is devoted to the research of alchemy for all uses in game. With magic/talents being so rare, alchemy will take its place as the primary way of empowering or speeding up processes. Alchemical solutions to help speed up the growth of farms, poisons for weapons. It is a market that can have tremendous potential and this academy will focus on being that cutting edge.

Forestnight Tailors’ Guild (G)

The Forestnight Tailors’ Guild plans to become a prominent venue for current and aspiring tailors within Forestnight to pool their knowledge and resources for furthering the profession while providing a platform for networking, collaboration and the expansion of individual client bases. Membership will not restrict affiliated tailors’ freedom of trade, rather, it will encourage collaboration and individual and guild growth.

Hartelione Academy (S)

Founder: Sigewulfe Brekvorn

The Hartelione Academy will provide a venue for the citizens of Forestnight to learn and research various fields of expertise from military tactics to alchemy, from tailoring to blacksmithing, and many more! Each campus will specialise in at least one particular field of knowledge. The Vanguard campus will focus on military subjects while the Ise Thalas campus will specialise in alchemy studies and research.

Oakwater Trading Company (A) (Placeholder)

The Oakwater Trading Company plans to establish trading houses throughout the duchy to provide the public with a venue for trade and commerce, while also facilitating the company’s own business. By doing this we aim to become a prominent trade company within Forestnight before expanding beyond the duchy. As a trading company, we will be taking a general focus, in order to avoid limiting the potential for business for ourselves and our affiliated merchants.
