Years ago, during the days of “The Last King”, Tol Elmoth was just an empty isle in Anor’s western border. But this was a time of conflict, with neighboring Dukes and Petty Kings warring endsley for control of the land. The King wanting to consolidate his power and control over Anor’s western borders, bestowed the isle and the surrounding land to my ancestors tasking them with establishing an Anorian stronghold to guard the border.
This was no simple task, since ours was a young House of limited wealth and reputation and only a handful of allies amongst the Anorian aristocracy. Not many citizens were willing to start a new life on a troubled and insecure frontier especially under the rule of a petty Noble.
“But what about the rest, not the citizens and the merchants, nor the artisans and the clerks. What about the poor, the old, the homeless, the orphans, the widows, the cripples." - “Uncle” Argyle
The poor, the orphans, the immigrants and refugees of this conflicted period seemed to be the only Menn willing to travel and start a new settlement. And “Uncle” Argyle the goodhearted was very popular among these wretched Menn and Womenn.
Truth be told, they had nothing to lose, it was either that or die homeless and starved.
All that helped in the establishment of the settlement were granted land to call their own and full citizen rights in exchange for their services. Janoa, Kypiq, Neran, Dras and Wared, even some Brundvir of the north were all equals in Tol Elmoth.
…
Nowadays the once small settlement of Tol Elmoth has grown enough to the City level and will soon reach the Capital size. With 3 bridges connecting to the mainland and abundant land on its western border, trade roads on the way, a Castle and Walls to defend it and an Anorian Guard detachment is finally becoming the stronghold the “Last King” imagined.
