Kypiq
The Kypiq tribe are unquestionably the most diminutive of the tribes, but their small size and adorable demeanor belies the true value their form affords them. With an average height of about 4' (122 cm) tall, and an average weight of about 60 lbs (27 kg), the Kypiq are significantly lighter on their feet than the other tribes, enabling them to make their homes in the treetops of the forests scattered throughout Elyria's temperate regions. With their medium to olive-tone skin, and their light brown, chestnut, or auburn hair, they blend in easily among the various broad-leaf and coniferous trees of the forest. Their most striking feature, however, are their large, brown eyes which have evolved to provide improved vision - particularly in the thick, forest canopy - but is also frequently mistaken for child-like proportions found in other tribes. As such, the Kypiq are often referred to by any number of diminutive nicknames which exacerbate their squirrel-like stereotype.
Advantages
The Kypiq are the smallest of all the tribes and are able to hide easily because of this. Their size allows them to fit into tiny spaces and access places other tribes are unable to, but their size also hampers them as well. They are unable to reach high places, or wear large or heavy gear. They are also unable to wield large objects and ride bigger mounts. They are able to see in low light, similar to other animals like the canis rabbit. This ability also makes their eyes appear to glow when it is dark out. They also have an inate ability to emote and mimic animal calls.
Since the Kypiq rely on the forest creatures so much for survival a long time ago they gave up slaughtering the animals dwelling in their woods. After generations of subsisting primarily on plants, their bodies now have a hard time processing meat. This means that the Kypiq cannot draw the same amount of nutrients from it and find themselves full long before they have the energy to continue on with their day-to-day life, if they only rely on meat as a source of food. The Kypiq's small form, while agile, are much more delicate and have become far more susceptible to heavy impacts and stuns.
Attributes
The Kypiq are social by nature and it is not uncommon to see communities work together on local issues. They rely on their intuition to assess threats, evaluate outsiders, and tackle problems. As such, they are welcoming and curious to those they choose to reveal themselves to. Coupled with their easy manner and mischievous charm, they tend to be quite disarming and likable. A clever Kypiq is a successful Kypiq. Relying on ingenuity and pluck in even the most mundane situation, they are viewed as impish rapscallions by those who can't see their genius. Not prone to long bouts of focused thinking, there is a tendency for Kypiq to want to get their hands dirty in order to better work through a problem.
Though small, like the Hrothi, the Kypiq are lean and proportionate to Neran. As such, they needn't much strength to scurry up a tree trunk, tire quickly and, overall, possess the least physical aptitude of all the tribes. There is one exception to this: no other tribe can hold a candle to the agility demonstrated by the Kypiq, which has been honed over years of climbing and leaping among the trees to survive.
