The County of Terrasen lies within the lush duchy of The Haverlands. A fertile land of promise and opportunity for those of all walks of life. A growing community, an economic competitor, a beacon of order; Terrasen holds much to gain for those with the strength of will to take it.
Terrasen is home to several organizations and.. some interesting oddities! From the ducal primary law enforcement to religious fanatics, it has become an interesting mix. We are still looking to grow in the number of small settlements and citizens; from the most upstanding to sleekest and nefarious.
With an emphasis on variety, Terrasen is being designed for an environment that encourages players to pursue their ambitions. A guard would have a most drawl day without the pickpocket to chase around town. We aim to pull in players that want to contribute to the community, be it in dangerous goods that might “accidentally” cause the local tavern to need remodelling or perhaps in special documents that might change the way citizens see you. Each and every idea adds character and entertainment for the rest of us, just be ready to deal with your own consequences.
This is an roleplay friendly community with the prospect of planned events and plotlines within the County and the Duchy at the very least. Your style is our style, be it none or the most serious, there is a place for you.
Government
Our County government shall follow that of its Duchy where all the Barons/Baronesses and Mayors/Mayoresses within shall be in charge of voting on public matters of the County. Each shall be responsible for their own lands and have free authority to create and maintain their own laws as long as they do not upturn any of the laws of the hierarchy. Each settlement shall have the right to present its voice at the Countess’s court.
The County’s economy and military standing shall be monitored by the advisers and generals of the Countess’s Barony to ensure its continued stability but shall not interfere unless strife occurs within the County.

Origins and History:
The Rise of House Creth’hyal
House Creth’hyal is young in comparison to many others within the the Haverlands. Its noble origins only traceable to The Dawn Rebellion.
Rhoe Creth’hal, a miner by trade, lived during the days of Duke Erick Haverly’s oppressive rule of the Haverlands. His family lived a meager existence with debts of heavy taxation and poor pay for his efforts deep in the mines of the rich land. With the rise of Count Bryden Farrow and the summon to arms against the duke, Rhoe set his pick to bone instead of stone in answer to the rebellion's call.
During the bloody affair that was the Battle of Erewood, a fraction of the Ducal forces of Erick attempted to route the Coalition with a secondary attack from the side. They were met with the battle cries of mining songs from the miners of Terrasen, blades and picks alike preventing the attack from reaching the main forces of the Coalition.
Praised for his rallying of the miners, Rhoe was granted lands and titles over his home upon the conclusion of the rebellion. Over the following generations, Terrasen grew beyond the small mining communities into the County of present day. They remain loyal to the governance and ideas of House Farrow.
Tales of Aedion the Warden
Tales of Aedion are older than Terrasen itself. They hail back to the time of the first miners sinking their picks into the land during the initial occupation of the Haverlands. Some say he was a miner, some a wandering adventure, but all know that he was born of the wilds. Adventure seemed to seek him out and whisper his name in the days of old.
Tales of his adventures are told from the bedsides of young nobles to the clusters of street urchins clustered beneath tavern windows. Few are known to be true, perhaps none even; but they bring inspiration to the destitute and bravery to the young.
As rumor would state, the oldest story tells of when Aedion was but a young lad unknown to the world, wandering in the wilderness of the Haverlands. The tale signs of a chance encounter with a lone miner seeking his fortune deep in the untamed wilds and a restless beast of a bear. The stories grow more elaborate and heroic as the generations pass, but they live on all the same.
It is from theses tales that the original Wardens were born prior to their development into the Terrasen Wardens.
Factions:
Settlements:
Orynth is the seat of the Count and Countess of Terrasen. Its origins are the hamlet where Rhoe, the first Count of Terrasen, staked his claim as a miner. As the hamlet grew, so did the thirst for more of the world other than the riches that lay beneath the ground.
Terrasen currently has four Barons/Mayors pledged to its cause. Information on their holdings coming soon!
Terresen Wardens:
The Wardens are, in essence, protectors of people under the law in the Haverlands. In past, they originated from worker escorts and wayfarers. In present, they come in a variety of forms and serve a multitude of roles from trackers and detectives to enforcers and rangers. They work to maintain harmony between County and Duchy and order within the streets of their respective homes. Find the official document here.
Terrasen Metalworks:
The original residents of the area were drawn in by the lure of not the beauty of the land but all that glimmered beneath it. The miners and smiths of Terrasen have had long to hone their craft. Though the majority of the populace is no longer strictly miners and smiths, the Metalworkers of Terrasen take pride in their original works which are second only to the haggling between their own miners and smiths.
Nameless Religion:
With the colonizing of new land, came new beliefs. A time of shifting mining groups and nomadic traders, brought a torrent of fables, gods, and tradition. We have a large group working on a religion for the County and from what they have shared, it has become rather in depth. More information coming further down the road!
