Does anyone know how the tribe selection is going to work? I want to play brudvir but if I don't start in the brudvir area then can I still play them?

If you're a noble, it depends on the ethnic makeup of your domain - you can't very well be a Neran king in a region that doesn't have many Neran living in it!

For gentry and commoners, you just pick a family that happens to be living there. If there's at least one Brudvir family living in the settlement you picked, you'll probably be able to be a Brudvir.

You might be able to get a ward of the state (orphan) brudvir in other regions. or start one in the brudvir area and migrate it (either during Exposition or after launch).

From all I’ve read, as a ward, you could start as any tribe.

But as a count?

Counts are limited by the majority tribe of their county.

If the tribe(s) available in the surrounding for one to start in an orphange as a ward, then yes, they could select them, though not as any tribe if it isn't in the area.
