Kardinalswacht

Server: Selene

City: Pineland (Waiting for rename)

Language: German (I hope I can convey the idea well anyway)

The settlement "Kardinalswacht" (German for "Cardinal's warden") better known as "village of the bees", as it is called by many travellers, is located in the far south of the kingdom of Demalion, near the border to Tryggr.

The origin of "Kardinalswacht" is from the cardinal bees that live in the area. Actually, these bees are so rare that they are known only from legends. But here they have their home.

"Kardinalswacht" lies in the middle of a dense pine forest (original name: Pineland). As soon as you enter the forest, you notice a quiet and creepy humming that sends a shiver down the spine of even the bravest Brudvir. The hum becomes louder with every step until it becomes a hectic buzz. Then the forest clears and you stand in the juiciest strawberry field you've ever seen. You look towards the sky and now you know where the buzzing comes from. The air is filled with thousands and thousands of bees. Your breath gasps as you look hypnotized at the swarms of bees.

Then you hear a voice. "Greetings, noble wanderer. Come over here!" while you notice a small path that weaves its way through the strawberry field and leads you deeper into the clearing.

The voice belongs to a young Neran who is dressed in the colours of his guild and he waves at you. He introduces himself, but you just can't pay attention to his name, because you still look fascinated at the thousands and thousands of bees. Then you look the Neran in the eyes and it seems as if the Neran is much older than he seems at first sight.

Are the rumors true? The honey of the cardinal bees is supposed to increase vitality and prolong life? Your breath is stalling. Is that really true?

You cross the strawberry field and reach a large market place where there is a lot of activity. Every corner is being bargained and you can see many large barrels changing owners.

The Neran leads you past a large statue to a crowded tavern, from which music and laughter can be heard. You enter the tavern. The innkeeper waves at you: "Come try our mead!" You drink the mead. The scratching in your throat, which you have felt for days, is blown away. "Can, can I buy some of it?" you stammer. Normally you are very eloquent, but at this moment you can't help yourself.

You trade a price and pack your backpack with several bottles of mead. You decide to stay a bit longer and the evening runs by as you listen to the stories of the locals.

When you leave the village the next morning packed full and follow the path through the pine forest, it's as if you've awoken from a dream. Was it all just a dream? You grab your luggage and make sure that everything you have bought is still there and go on satisfied. One day you will come back...
