Welcome to the City of Wenport, the capital of Thunormore and the Harbour of Hope!
For centuries Wenport has been the heart and soul of the thunari people and it is the largest and most distinguished city in the lands of the thunari. It's where the thunari meet to celebrate their festivities, it's where merchants meet to trade and it's where scholars meet in search for knowledge and wisdom.
The three keys in the city coat of arms represents the three pillars which upon Wenport is founded.
Science is the first pillar that Wenport is built upon. Without research and progress, there's only stagnation. In our pursuit of a rich and plentiful future we prioritise the scholars and research amongst ourselves. In this endeavour the University of Wenport has been erected, and for centuries has educated the minds of the thunari people.
Commerce is the second pillar. Because alone one can not survive. One people can not be masters of everything, thus we trade. And through trade and commerce both ourselves and our friends will prosper. To aid this endeavour a multitude of guilds and organisations have been founded and hail Wenport as their home. Mercator Inc. is among the most distinguished trading companies residing in Wenport. Of guilds we can offer a wide variety, among them Terra Magna, a fine arts guild; Order of Bylindu, an alchemist and herbalist guild; and our own Woodworker's guild.
Hope is the last of the pillars which Wenport is built upon. Because hope is the key for a prosperous future. Without hope, there is no will. Without will, there is no future. Hope is what fuels the scholars in their pursuit of knowledge, and hope is what fuels the merchants to find new riches to trade. Hope is also what gave name to the city. Wenport is literally translated to the "Harbour of Hope".
