New Forum Borders & Tiers

Hey All,

Just a quick heads-up to let you know that we've adjusted the forum borders and tiers to help reduce confusion.

Forum Borders and Tiers are based on Total Influence, and can thus be upgraded either through purchases in the store, or anything else that awards Influence.

There are now 12 Tiers broken down as follows:

  • Tiers 1 (400 Influence), 2 (700 Influence), and 3 (1,000 Influence) correspond with the Adventurer Pledge Packages and have a bronze border
  • Tiers 4 (1,200 Influence), 5 (1,750 Influence), and 6 (2,250 Influence) correspond with the Gentry Pledge Packages and have a silver border
  • Tiers 7 (2,500 Influence), 8 (5,000 Influence), 9 (7,500 Influence) correspond with the Aristocracy Pledge Packages and have a silver border with additional filigree
  • Tiers 10 (10,000 Influence), 11 (50,000 Influence), and 12 (100,000 Influence) correspond with the Nobility Pledge Packages and have a silver border with gold trim and filigree.

This means that, generally speaking, you can identify whether someone is a commoner, gentry, aristocracy, or nobility simply by looking at their borders. But be advised, not everyone's in-game character title matches their border. So don't make assumptions.

Tier 7 and Tier 8 are using the same image at the moment.

No they're not. They look nothing alike, tier 8 has curls on it. Every time a Tier rises by a number something gets added to the border, Tier 8 has had curls added.

Good way to see who is committed to the game

Most of the IP is from $ purchases in the store and I don't think the size of a purchase is a good indicator of a persons level of commitment. I'm sure if many people were richer and had more spare money to their name they'd buy higher packages or more EP and have higher tiers than they have.

  • Tiers 1 (400 Influence), 2 (700 Influence), and 3 (1,000 Influence) correspond with the Adventurer Pledge Packages and have a bronze border
  • Tiers 4 (1,250 Influence), 5 (1,750 Influence), and 6 (2,250 Influence) correspond with the Gentry Pledge Packages and have a silver border

So i purchased bloodline, i also have IP for recruiting 2 people to the game that purchased a package. Bloodline being gentry should i not be tier 4, or shouldn't tier 3 be made silver according to the information in the OP?

I have 1200 influence for the record. am i missing the 50 influence due to the 5$ fluctuation from KS bloodline 120$ and Modern Bloodline 125$?

I don't remember what the old IP was for each package. However, I believe 1250 IP is what you would receive if you purchased the NEW bloodline tier. All that aside, if you have 1200 IP and the mimimum requirement for Tier 4 is 1250, yes, i would say you're short 50 IP.

Is the border only visible on desktop. I don't see anything on my phone.

Good catch. I've dropped Tier 4 down to 1200 Influence.

They were when I posted that. I know because I was putting them on the wiki, and the files named tier7.jpg and tier8.jpg were the same. I also had curlicues a few hours ago that I don't now.

We haven't made any changes to the borders since yesterday. Any changes people are seeing are likely due to caching of the browser. As your cache clears, you may see the images change.

Ah, that explains it. Thanks.
